Have I been violated!?

So! Help me out here! I'm feeling weird!!
I had a back massage today! Was really looking forward to it but I'm a prude and really new to massages, so also a bit apprehensive. I had a back massage a few years ago and kept my jeans on and the therapist spent most of the time massaging knots in my shoulders, as well as massaging the rest of my back. I thought today would be the same, but I was asked to strip except undies and then the therapist pulled my underwear down and spent a lot of the time massaging my bum!!

Is this nornal? It felt weird and I spent most of the massage session paralysed with confusion and dear and wondering if I was being violated or if I'm just really naive and that this is what happens in back massages!!

Please can you let me know if this is normal or not!! I don't know what to think and because of past incidents I know I am a bit more sensitive to nudity and being touched etc.. than others, so maybe this is normal? And reaction is not.

Help!!!

(PS. I'm in my 30s so old enough to know if I was violated or not - but I just don't know! And feel really freaked out!!)

That's very normal. Expected, in fact.

Usually with a massage (male or female masseuse) I remove all but the underwear they provide and they roll it down a bit as I have a low dip back-bum area.

In Turkey they massaged my breasts which was a little odd, but they're professionals so they're not getting turned on or doing it for kicks.

Next time perhaps just say that you would prefer they did not massage the bum area as you have a medical issue/ sensitivities (dependant on what you are willing to reveal) and they will abide by your wishes

I am a bit surprised people keep their knickers on in the first place. What about the oil? Weird!

Have also had full cheek massages in Germany but he had been working for 30 years in a VERY reputable spa (the beckhams and Cheryl apparently often visit) and he did a little 'tap' and pause on the cheek and said 'OK?' (Didn't speak good English) and proceeded very professionally when I assented.

the first massage I had the I had my pants on after they finished my back they pull my pants down exposing my underwear but that was it they didn’t pull my underwear down.
