I'd spend the money and time on something else. I don't want to retrain. I'm an accountant and I love it Blush

marvellousnightforamooncup · 16/03/2019 12:49

Counselling and psychotherapy.

FuckertyBoo · 16/03/2019 12:50

Good for you stevie! That’s fab.

Psychotherapy sounds so interesting, but could also be quite sad I think.

I am a librarian, but if I had a lot of spare money and time I would like to train in the restoration of books and manuscripts. Then go and work for the National Trust and restore all their lovely things.

Nathansmommy1 · 16/03/2019 12:54

I would love to study psychology. As a parent of a child who has special needs and has seen benefits from psychology appts, I now find it so interesting, if I ever get bored in my job (accountancy) that's what I'll be switching to.

IJustLostTheGame · 16/03/2019 12:55

I work in wardrobe for a theatre, I want to expand.
The London college of fashion do a distance learning Stylist course, I'd love to do that.

The80sweregreat · 16/03/2019 13:28

I'd love to be an actress or learn to sing as I 'couldn't carry a note in a bucket. 'I Can't afford to do any of these things and too old now.

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 16/03/2019 14:00

I would be a children nurse.

Did actually look into it, but no way am I taking on more student debt to take a pay cut. Shame the bursaries are gone. I shall just have to stick with law.

LakieLady · 16/03/2019 14:11

If I wasn't nearing retirement, had several years and plenty of money, I'd do a law degree and (hopefully) get a good enough degree to do the BPTC then get a pupillage.

The fees alone would probably be close to £50k these days, and it's really hard graft, so really tough to work as well.

Oh, and I'd only be interested in discrimination and civil liberties cases, wouldn't want to do boring old crime, matrimonial or PI stuff.

I don't want much. Grin

myidentitymycrisis · 16/03/2019 14:12

I’d get a dog and train it as a therapy dog.

LakieLady · 16/03/2019 14:17

I work in wardrobe for a theatre, I want to expand.

Someone I know was in wardrobe. She now has 2 businesses, one providing period menswear and one supplying very expensive bespoke curtains to (her words, not mine) "the rich and tasteless". She makes a mint, but I'm not sure if both are lucrative or if one subsidises the other.

She also tells very funny stories about the vulgarity of rock stars and footballers' wives, knows the collar size and inside leg measurement of many a household name and has been required to provide 20 pairs of 1930s braces for the RSC at 48 hours notice.

And she has seen some very tasty men without their trousers on ...

ThatFalseEquivalenceTho · 16/03/2019 14:18

@gettingbacktoresearch SAME.

RussellSprout · 16/03/2019 14:27

Id become a psychotherapist. It's absolutely fascinating and can make such a difference to people's lives.

MrsBartlettforthewin · 16/03/2019 14:29

My plan is to do my psychology A level in the next couple of years then part time study at uni to become a psychotherapist.

CalamityJune · 16/03/2019 14:33

Counsellor

ExtraPineappleExtraHam · 16/03/2019 14:37

I am looking into re-training as a social worker but financially I'm not sure I'll be able to do it Sad I would have to wait till kids were at school and after we re-mortgage. I work in a related field and apparently there are grants available to train in something that might be useful to the NHS. So we'll see. Annoyingly this is what my mum said I should do at 16 and I told her to shut up as I was going to be a tattooist Blush

TheMuminator2 · 16/03/2019 14:37

Astronomer aim for the stars ladies, aim for the stars x

FuckertyBoo · 16/03/2019 14:39

Counselling, psychotherapy and social work are all such lovely things to want to do. Interesting, but potentially heartbreaking.

OutwithMyRemit · 16/03/2019 14:40

I'd become a documentary film maker or a sociologist.

BunsOfAnarchy · 16/03/2019 14:45

Pilot!

iklboo · 16/03/2019 14:47

Forensic documents - handwriting analysis, follow the money trail etc

MiniMum97 · 16/03/2019 17:21

I'm thinking about doing a masters in health psychology. Am too portly at the moment but maybe in a year's time. Am very old (46! :-)) and not studied for years so thinking if redoing my maths a level (I was robbed!) at home to get me back into studying and freshen up my stats skills.

MiniMum97 · 16/03/2019 17:22

Lol! Poorly not portly!!! 😅

BabyofMine · 16/03/2019 18:10

I’d love to be some sort of financial advisor.
