...to wake my neighbours by putting my bin out at 6am

Our bin day is Saturday. The council ask us to have our bins out by 7am. On a Saturday I leave for work at 6am. As I have to bump my bin up a set of concrete steps up to the street I put my bin out on a Friday teatime so I don’t wake my neighbours. Every Friday evening he comes home from the pub 11ish and decides now would be a good time to bump his bin up the steps.

I guess people aren't mind readers and probably don't realize it can disturb someone's sleep and a lot of people assume there's no such thing as too much noise on a friday night (as most people aren't working on saturdays). If it's disturbing you, perhaps a polite note through their letterbox or a brief chat if you're familiar with them will help sort thngs out.

Yeah we’re not supposed to put our bins on the street too early, evening or morning is the norm.

Could you put it out for him? My neighbour and I often do this if one of us has forgotten. It's easy in our case as the bins are right there in our front gardens obviously not a possibility if it would mean trespassing into his back garden.

My neighbours do this every Sunday evening at gone 11pm which is annoying as they aren’t collected till Tuesday. I haven’t said anything as I really like them so put up with it.

Could you talk to him? Do you think he’d listen?

my neighbours have a dog that barks non stop, they let him out at 6 in the morning and then sometimes at 12/1 at night, some people just really have no clue.

Spam
Slightly embarrassed to admit I hadn’t thought of that obvious suggestion 🙄 Thank you there is my solution
