Bubble has burst!! (lighthearted!)

Well the bubble that my ds4 has yet been untouched by anything not lovely and wholesome!
Just read Chicken Licken to him after coming across it yesterday in a charity shop.
All engrossed in the tension of poor Chicken Licken's quest to find the King....
Then the little buggar laughed when Foxy Loxy ate them all!!
What realisation was there that you dc was in fact a typical dc after all??
Rip to all the poor story members.

They have a beautiful book about a fox that dies and then all the woodland creatures gather and mourn the fox and a tree grows from his body. I was in buckets.

Eldest pointed at the book one day and said “that books stupid, a fox dies and a bunch of cry babies won’t shut up about it.”

Bit older but the memory is still strong 😢

My then 11yo DS while talking about Christmas answered me with "yeah yeah Santa! Whatever!"

I cried!

Sorry, but you can lead by example, guide the way, and bend over backwards; but your dc is his own person. Half his genes are someone else's, not yours. A woman I know didn't allow her DD to have to guns - he joined the forces as soon as get was old enough.
