To want a small engagement ring?

I don't tend to wear jewelry and can't imagine having a big solitaire ring banging into things for the rest of my life! Anyone with a small, band-style engagement ring regret it? Am I over-estimating how much of a pain they are?

I bypassed the engagement ring entirely. Then-DP was very sweet about making very sure that’s what I wanted to do, but honestly I don’t wear very much jewellery (for practical reasons as well as personal style) and I preferred to have a simple custom wedding band that I would be happy to wear every day.

Plus I’d already had The Big Rock with a previous engagement and I was more interested in the man this time!! Grin

Bluebell I wear my mum’s wedding ring on my right hand-it is engraved with ivy leaves! She married my dad in 1971.

Where's that from that's like my dream ring!

Niteflights; my wedding ring is engraved with tiny stars all the way round (like asterisks) I still love it, but it takes ages to clean after I've been making pastry!

After spending a ridiculous amount of time looking online and wandering around Hatton Garden, I've finally found something I like! Deciding between white and yellow gold - which do you think is nicer?

I like white gold but both are beautiful.
Congratulations x

I like the yellow gold but I think I'm biased! Mine were both antique from the second hand shop in Hatton Garden. I never take them off, I was always amazed to find massive rocks on the shelf in our ladies' loo at work because people didn't want to lose them down the sink, but then walked away forgetting to put them back on!

They are both lovely choices. The yellow gold has the edge for me.

TheMightyToosh · 22/03/2019 12:30

Lovely! The yellow suits your skin best I think

Do you tend to wear gold or silver jewellery more - mine has both white and yellow gold so I can wear it with anything. White gold tends to need redipping.
