So, probably fair to say that many of us are concerned about the possible lowering of UK food standards post-Brexit, paving the way for cheap, industrially farmed imports of US meat, dairy etc which would decimate the UK farming sector and flood our shelves with unethically produced food.
This issue is being talked about a lot by ordinary mums like me who are desperate to protect the UKs higher welfare farming practices.
So why then is it that the one parliamentary petition on the matter petition.parliament.uk/petitions/239898?fbclid=IwAR2QA4ELEHaovbYN8g9DSwOERiw1suP61q8DUQ-W5Du7pqcO1qDhVPuqzM8 only has 866 signatures a month after being started? The wording might not be ideal but the sentiment is there.
Wondering whether other mumsnetters want to throw their weight behind it so this very important issue can be debated in parliament (just another 99,144 signatures to go!)..
