Of mushy food for me?
I had a gastric band fitted almost a decade ago (company have closed down and I’m in a country with no free healthcare and I can’t afford to get this revised)
From the start, even without having any “fill” put in the band, it has been impossible to eat most fruits, veg, chicken, meat, tuna and mush more-mostly healthy foods unfortunately!
I’m bigger than ever living on a totally crap diet and any efforts end up with me in agony (sorry tmi- and basically regurgitating) and eating chocolate in anger and frustration (crazy, I know- my relationship with food is destroyed!)

Can anyone think of foods i can live on that will be sustainable for a healthy life and weight loss? Mushy or liquid food basically?

Regurgitate is putting it mildly for what actually happens, it’s like having an exorcism! The crazy thing is something that causes it one week will be fine the next!

The things that are always fine are the worst possible foods imaginable.

Without wishing to sound harsh, if you are 'bigger than ever' after having a gastric band fitted you must still be able to digest, satisfactorily, more than sufficient calories, despite your digestive problems Have you tried consulting a nutritionist?

I am, in the form of chocolate, maize crisps, certain things covered in mayo (it acts as a lube), ice cream, mashed potatoes etc.

The issue isn’t lack of calories, that’s why I asked for help.

Its boring, but vegetable soup? Really any soup thats fairly smooth.

If eating fruits, veg, chicken, meat and fish makes you violently sick, I think you need to seek medical help ASAP.

Soup it a good idea, I could maybe blend chicken into it and see could I get it that way!

Worra it’s been ten years and I can’t afford healthcare especially not ASAP unfortunately

I would do soups and a variety of potato dishes. Potatoes get a bad rap from some but they are actually full of vitamins and nutrients, protein and fibre etc. They can also aid digestive health and help control blood sugar levels. There have been people that have only eaten potatoes for a year or longer and documented their results, regarding weight loss and health.

It costs 15k to have it removed and that’s what needs to happen because there’s not even any fill in it so there’s nothing else that can be done but remove it.
The first couple of years a assumed was a settling in period.
Life has thrown me some very unexpected and detrimental curve balls so I haven’t had ten years to save, I’ve barely been able to keep afloat.

Trust me I wouldn’t be asking here if I had other options

Heismyopendoor I can’t eat potatoes either 🙈 but again I could most definitely blend them into soups!
I saw the guy from Penn and Teller lived on potatoes with great results!

Try to get protein into soup. Do you think you could stomach lentil mixed - so things like a mix of lentils and veg with maybe diced chorizo or similar? Rice salads, fish even as it’s less dense?

I'd go for lentil casseroles, mild currys, soups, porridge. Softly scrambled eggs . Also could you just not buy a good quality blender and blend a healthy low calorie meal ?

scrambled egg or porridge for breakfast.
nutrient rich milkshake (about a third/quarter of a normal portion) over the morning/lunch/afternoon.
lentil and bacon soup (split into 3 or 4 small portions over the evening) for dinner.

Small portions (obviously) but eat tiny amounts twice as often as you would normally have a meal: if you are forcing the band to the point of expulsion then you are eating too large a volume at a time.

It’s not a case of eating to the point of expulsion at all, it’s a case of certain foods getting stuck and causing something called sliming (as in slime)
It can be the most tiny amount, usually the first bite and often happens with the first food in a long period of time -eg breakfast.
There’s no restriction for “slider” foods and liquids.

Protein shakes for breakfast, soup for lunch and dinner. Snacks of Greek yogurt with protein shake mixed in.
