I'm early 30s and he is 62.
He is starting to really creep me out.
We were at a wedding on Sunday and I was sat at the table with him,it was really uncomfortable.
He started by saying "let's get a photo in that photo booth, things I would do to you in there"
Then telling me he wanted me to dance so he could watch me.
I ended up leaving early and going to my hotel room.
Since then he's been messaging me on Facebook asking how I am etc and he loved what I was wearing.
Aibu to block him here?
I feel so uncomfortable and he is creeping me out.
I'm more into women than men anyway, not that I would go anywhere near him.
He is meant to be at a party with me and my friend (with his wife, who is my friends mum) on Friday and I don't want to go.
How do I handle this?

Block straight away!

TopShagger · 12/03/2019 13:04

Tell him you're into women, that's usually enough to put someone off. Otherwise block him.

BMW6 · 12/03/2019 13:04

"Fuck off you pervy old creep" should do the trick.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/03/2019 13:07

You handle this by responding like an adult. Tell him in no uncertain terms how utterly vile he is. Tell him if he ever contacts you again, you will inform his wife and your friend of his disgusting behaviour. You will also be saving all of the messages he has sent you. Then block him.

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 12/03/2019 13:07

Block him. Dont even respond.

You need to be really clear OP.
You are perfectly justified in feeling uncomfortable and would be quite right to tell him to fuck off.

Block him, don't feel obliged to gloss over his inappropriate comments. I know it is hard but if you are really clear up front he won't have the leeway to continue with his behaviour.

You shouldn't have to put up with this. I had an uncle by marriage who was just the same. He got away with it because I was always to embarrassed to say anything. In the end, I pointed out that he was being totally inappropriate and after trying to backtrack, he ended the conversation and the behaviour stopped.

Sending you hugs

sammypre · 12/03/2019 13:08

The thing is I've never gave him any encouragement.
I'm friendly and chatty to him but I'm like that with everyone.
You sit at a table with someone for 6 hours so you chat.
I'm worried he will ask my friend why I've blocked him and I can't tell her why.
So uncomfortable

'If you don't want me to send a screenshot of every message you've sent me, plus the audio on my phone of what I recorded you saying to me at the wedding, to your wife and my friend your SD, then don't ever contact me again. In the meantime, I'm going to the police to check using Claire's Law (google it) whether you have any record for sexual harrassment. This will be your ONLY warning, you foul little creep. Now fuck off.'

sammypre · 12/03/2019 13:09

He's wife was there yes but sat at the top table and we were on a different table.

FizzyGreenWater · 12/03/2019 13:09

Um, you can tell her and maybe you should!!!!!!

FizzyGreenWater · 12/03/2019 13:10

Because if that's the kind of man he is I would be surprised if she has had the most, um, positive relationship with him growing up - no matter how it might look in public.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/03/2019 13:10

he wont ask her for fear of you telling her

sammypre · 12/03/2019 13:12

I can't believe men like this exist.
What does he expect me to do ...ugh.

^ Just this.

FinallyHere · 12/03/2019 13:13

I agree, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

You could tell her he made you feel uncomfortable and let her see the messages if she wants. You may find you have more in common that you think. These people rely on people being too embarrassed to. All them out

Ugh.

CabbageHippy · 12/03/2019 13:14

of course block him, but first tell him why

Ellapaella · 12/03/2019 13:15

I'd reply: ' 😂😂 As if - I'm actually quite offended that you thought for a minute that I'd be remotely interested in a dirty old fucker like you, piss off and leave me alone or I'm telling your wife 🤢'

CoraPirbright · 12/03/2019 13:18

Urrgh urrgh urrgh!

I think Fizzy puts it rather well....

drum12345 · 12/03/2019 13:23

OP, men like this get away with it because their victims are much nicer people and feel empathy. He doesn't feel any empathy towards you, his wife or his step daughter, he's just enjoying the sense of power he had over you all. Call him out by and tell your friend why if she asks. It's taken me far too many years to realise that it doesn't matter about being polite in these situations. It doesn't matter what he thinks of you, you have a right to feel, and be, safe

drum12345 · 12/03/2019 13:25

So many typos in my post - apologies!

Springwalk · 12/03/2019 13:26

Revolting.

Block and tell your friend.

I am not sure I would rush to go to the party on Friday and might choose to do something else that evening, unless you really want to go. Be confident in telling him to stop, loudly, if he does it again.

sammypre · 12/03/2019 13:28

Thanks everyone.
I'm already thinking of why I can't make the party.
It's not just what he says it's the way he looks at me too,I just don't like it at all.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 12/03/2019 13:30

So uncomfortable

This is what he's counting on. Revolting. Please tell your friend and BLOCK. He might try it on with her too.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 12/03/2019 13:31

Tell him to stop hassling you. Be very clear.

Then you have it in writing, if he tried to twist it the other way.

Then BLOCK.
