DH and I live in a cul de and our neighbour has taken to blocking us in and out our driveway.

It started when they were having an extension built and they couldn’t park their two vehicles on their driveway. Now he’s started parking his transit van most of the time in a way that means we either can’t get in or off our driveway.

We’ve spoken to them multiple times and they’re always very apologetic but it keeps happening.
Drove into the street today and he’d fucking done it again.

I noticed their drive way was empty so I parked my car length ways across it. God I know IBU but I am so fed up of them blocking us in and out.

The wife came to the door and asked me to move off their driveway and I said of course I’d move....as soon as the van blocking us out ours is moved. She said she coundnt as her husband was out.

And I know I’m going to be flamed but I politely told her that I’d move it as soon as we have our driveway access back and closed the door.

The husband was suddenly home within 10 minutes Hmm and I explained to him that, without exception, every time he blocks us in or out I will be parking on his driveway.

God I am so bloody angry. I have two young kids and I can hardly use my bloody driveway so have to traipse them up the street after parking a good distance from the house.

I also told him that the next time he blocks me in I’ll be phoning the police and will not be going to his door.

Groovee · 10/03/2019 17:40

Good for you.

Jellybean100 · 10/03/2019 17:41

Why can’t they just park across their own driveway!

Isntthatalwaystheway · 10/03/2019 17:41

This is fabulous, round of applause OP Grin

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 10/03/2019 17:41

X post...

Sexnotgender · 10/03/2019 17:43

YANBU. You’ve asked repeatedly, they’ve paid lip service and ignored you.

BirdieInTheHand · 10/03/2019 17:43

How on earth did he respond?? I need to know!

Daisymay2 · 10/03/2019 17:43

Can not see any reason at all why you should be flamed, Sometimes people need a taste of their own medicine.

SockPortal · 10/03/2019 17:44

@Easterbunnyiscomingsoon you beat me to it 😂

Jackshouse · 10/03/2019 17:44

Just checking - do you have a dropped curb?

Bluntness100 · 10/03/2019 17:44

Why couldn't they park on their drive when you had your extension built?

Was this agreed with them? And how long did it go on for?

Longdistance · 10/03/2019 17:45

What a pair of arseholes.

Well done 👍

Eliza9917 · 10/03/2019 17:45

Did you park on their actual drive or just across the entrance?

Well done op, I kind of hope they park across yours again so you can show them you mean what you say.

TheInvestigator · 10/03/2019 17:46

@Bluntness100

It was the neighbours having their own extension built, not the OP. I'm guessing they couldn't park both cars on the drive due to building equipment, materials being stacked up, possibly a skip etc etc. So they parked on the road and blocked the OP's drive.

killpop · 10/03/2019 17:47

How was he parked in a way that prevented access to your driveway?

killpop · 10/03/2019 17:47

Good for you by the way.

smartiecake · 10/03/2019 17:49

Good for you
