I've noticed lots of posts recently which start along the lines of "fuck you Daily Fail" "The Daily Mail can piss off if they think they can use this post" or similar.

It's obviously an attempt to stop so called journalists from lifting threads and using them for an easy story but I don't see what difference it makes? Surely they will just crop/edit out the bits they don't want?

Have I missed something or is it a bit pointless?

I like the crossing out but some people don't seem to quite get it and put in the wrong place!!

QuimReaper · 07/03/2019 12:05

Strikethroughs are SUPPOSED to be for making jokes, but about a huge portion of users don't seem to get that and use them in place of parentheses and it DRIVES ME INSANE. Angry

If reading the to not want DH to try and pay me for sex thread sparked this chain of thought, I don't think that particular poster is being self-important.

That thread is Daily Mail fodder without question.

If you can cope with clicking a DM link, this shows how direct screen grabs are lifted from MN and include usernames...

I guess prefacing the post with something sweary and disparaging would stop them from using your post, or at the very least including your username?...

Also, I like strikethrough.

The Rebecca Flood thing is bloody awful.

^^This. There should be lessons.

Nanny I am so relieved it's not just me Grin I made a thread about it ages ago and nobody else had noticed it / was bothered by it. It makes me twitch every time!

Chocolatecakes · 07/03/2019 12:26

What’s the Rebecca Flood thing?

Thisisnotadrill · 07/03/2019 12:34

This poor women posted about an awful personal situation she was in and the stupid journalist published it in The Sun.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 07/03/2019 15:56

Distraught poster turned to MN as she has no real life support... Rebecca Flood lifted it wholeseale and it has now been published in 2 or 3 of the red tops!

Lazy, ignorant non-journalistic twattery!

But it is what you get for posting here. And shows that the FUCK OFF DAILY MAIL isn't always useful...
