The best for eating from the jar with a spoon is the Maltesers spread... heaven!

scissorsandpen · 05/03/2019 21:23

How did I miss that post - GU do a version!?

There are 5g in a teaspoon, 1/3 of a tablespoon. So a teaspoon contains approx 28 cals, not 80.

lololove · 05/03/2019 21:35

I agree with the malteasers spread - it's gorgeous!

It doesn't work for me as an actual spread though, it is hard as anything to spread - even over hot toast!

.... all the more reason to eat it out the jar ;)

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 05/03/2019 21:36

Why the fuck did you feel the need to tell us this op? I want to enjoy my Nutella without guilt!!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 05/03/2019 21:37

Nutella isn't a good thing.

It's mostly palm oil, which is environmentally disastrous and sugar.

katseyes7 · 05/03/2019 21:40

We got the Aldi version of Ferrero Rocher. Much nicer!

scissorsandpen · 05/03/2019 21:43

Sorry Leek lol it was there on a sticker right on the lid !!!

Nutella calories are non existent on pancake day and public holidays. You're ok. YABU 😂

Acrasia · 05/03/2019 21:46

Well Nutella have realised that when most people take a teaspoon of Nutella it is heavily heaped, hence the 15g not 5g.

I had one Lindt Lindor the other day and was gobsmacked at that also being 80 calls. It was tasty though, but best I stopped at one.

I cannot abide Nutella and stick to the Cadbury chocolate spread instead, which is delicious.

BeanTownNancy · 05/03/2019 21:47

@TipseyTorvey

  • not even crepe-style? Bananas and Nutella and cream/ice cream?
Yum.

(Also curse this thread - I'm stuck in hospital and they didn't even do pancakes on the menu today. And I'm pregnant. And (gestationally) diabetic. Sad)

longtompot · 05/03/2019 21:48

Its this stuff. My dh got in his secret santa a few years ago. Wasted on him, as he doesn't eat sweet things. Why oh why do I never get yummy treats for pressies? sobs

He also got a beer flavourd spread. Not so nice.

So, purely in the interests of science, I have done some weighing.
A level teaspoon in the measure weighs 6g

If you just dig a teaspoon in and scoop, you get a very tasty 30g

I love nuts, especially hazelnuts and I love chocolate but I hate Nutella and Ferraro Roche, I find them sickening.

Allgoodfun · 05/03/2019 21:56

Nutella and banana toasted sandwich, best lunch ever, and the banana makes it healthy

RustyBear · 05/03/2019 21:57

@scissorsandpen National Trust do a coffee curd in some of their shops (not currently in their online shop, sadly) which according to Myfitnesspal is 36cal for an 11g serving

All the calories are from the orangutan souls due to the palm fat.
