Got tonsillitis for the first time in August 2017. Had it every 3 months or so (undocumented at doctors) since.
Then about 3/4 weeks ago, they flared up bad - worse than ever previously.
I saw one doctor at an OOH who basically told me it was just a sore throat.
I then saw another doctor in the week when I was feeling completely horrific who gave me antibiotics.
Took them for a few days, they got so much worse so I ended up at A&E who said it was glandular fever and ordered blood tests.
Blood tests came back, sign of infection but not glandular fever. Saw another doctor to discuss the blood test results a few days ago and he said (after almost 4 weeks) that it was a simple virus and he'd expect it to go away on it's own.
Have been back to the doctors this morning to see a different doctor (about tonsils and that I have a rash all over my body and face and swelling) and he's gave me steroids to clear the inflammation.
AIBU to just be completely sick of this and being told something different by all doctors??? AIBU to be a bit worried to take steroids as well? It's prednisone.
