I went on a terrible date yesterday, lots of drink consumed on empty stomach and I cried loudly on transport home. At midnight. Feel absolutely humiliated today!

I did internet dating - it was a catalogue of disasters except for the date I met dp on......I prefer to gloss over the worst of it!!!!
Give it time, I promise you you’ll look back and laughSmile

Ah well you'll never have to see him again. And you must have been crying but still lovely on the train for the guys to rescue you.
We've all done stupid stuff when drunk. Wine

cuppycakey · 05/03/2019 12:13

It's just The Fear you have which is a part of hangovers, especially as you get older (sorry)

I have done far more cringey things, please don't worry. Treat yourself kindly and you will feel better tomorrow. Flowers

I've been there. For some reason, I started doing chin ups on the tube (in heels and in front of university crush). Unsurprisingly, I sprained my ankle and literally hopped along Camden High Stback to my flat. Still cringe now.

tiredgrumpyone · 05/03/2019 12:28

@LancsPear 😂😂😂😂😂

roundturnandtwohalfhitches · 05/03/2019 12:32

Once the Fear has passed - every bad night is a future comedy story to tell to your mates.

SaucyJack · 05/03/2019 12:32

Yeah, it’s just The Fear.

When the hangover wears off you’ll realise you’ve done nothing more than be a bit upset because you had a shit date with a bloke who turned out to be an arse.

No karaoke I presume?

tiredgrumpyone · 05/03/2019 12:32

Don't worry op, we've all been there. I'm pleased some lovely guys were kind to you, just goes to show there are lots of good eggs. A nice reminder after meeting a bad one!

MissKittyBeaudelais · 05/03/2019 12:48

You got home safely, in one piece. That’s what matters. Be careful out there.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 05/03/2019 13:16

You sound like you've got a good sense of humour and will have a good laugh about this in the future. Remember your next date could be so much better, than this one.
He sounds like a miserable date and you were probably "sipping" more than usual out of nerves? It sounds like you dodged a bullet there. There's sometimes a lot of pressure in that situation from entitled people to entertain them. They sit back being judgey, making you people please for them. If he's a bore, let him be a bore , that's not your fault or throw the emphasis back on him to entertain You!
Plus, I echo what tellmewhen says, keep yourself safe and bombproof future dates by eating something before in case there's no food on offer (we call it putting down a good drinking base LOL) and switch to soft if you start feeling a bit OTT. Good luck for next time.
