I've been complaining about our vacuum cleaner since we got it really, over two years ago. But the floors/ carpets looks relatively clean, it just seems to take forever to get it that way. I couldn't justify replacing something that wasn't broken.
Today I was vacuuming upstairs and getting so frustrated with going backward and forwards a million times to pick something up. So I turned the cleaner on it's back to check if the brush roll was actually going round... only to find I had the hard floor attachment on there so the brush roll was not AND HAS NEVER touched the bloody carpet!!! I must have put that on when we first got it to try it out on the hard floors downstairs and then never taken it off!
I have been using a squeegee to scrape the carpet for TWO AND A HALF years!!
Upside: My carpets look like brand frigging new and the rug in the living room has been restored to it's former fluffy self (and been saved from the chop come next IKEA outing).
What a complete twonk!!
