AIBU... to want to know where the broken glass went??

OK, I am very confused right now and I hope someone can help.

I have just done some washing up, and was drying a wine glass. Deep in my thoughts, I obviously applied a little too much pressure because I felt it ping in my hand and some glass fell on the floor (main part of the glass was still in my hand). I put the main part down, picked up two pieces from the floor. Couldn't see any more glass, so I checked against the broken part to see the pieces fitted. They didn't... it was clear that there was still a quite large piece missing.

So I looked to see where it had gone. No sign.

I have now hovered, poked about under the fridge and freezer, looked at all the surfaces in the kitchen... it is a very small kitchen. There was a bag of recycling on the floor when the glass broke.... I have been through the whole thing and transferred each item individually into a new bag. Still no glass. Where did it go?

Is it lurking somewhere, ready to leap out and attack me next time I go into the kitchen in bare feet? Or has it gone through a wormhole into a parallel universe?

That's so weird. Is it caught in the dishcloth or in something else in the sink?

Glass can go a really long way, especially on tiles. The last time I broke a glass I found a piece about 30ft from where it dropped.

You are probably right though, glass can hide and pop out to attack you later Grin

I've done this, it's probably further away than you think. Make sure you don't go barefoot for a few days until you find it

Meant to say I know you said it was a small kitchen but if a door was open I would be checking the hall/room beyond the door.

Still attached to the tea towel?

Check hair and clothes?

Not the same but I drop pins occasional when sewing and after searching the floor for ages they have been spotted in the folds of my clothing - often above the position I dropped it from Confused.

Just in case the glass shard pinged upwards.

If I have to clear broken glass from my kitchen floor I usually aim to finish the clean-up by vacuuming thoroughly. (doesn't always happen though...)

It's always under a fridge / washing machine/ dishwasher ime
