To consider moving house?

We've just completed a huge renovation on our house which is in an area I really like - close to a school I hope DS can get into next September & 5 minutes drive from my ILs & family who are great with childcare & we are very close to.

With another DC on the way I know I would be crazy to consider moving but this weekend was another news story about another random killing really close to us (5 minutes by car).

I dream of living somewhere with a sense of community which is pretty & safe. Does that exist or have I been watching too much Neighbours? We're in Essex but close to London - DH works from home but I working in London part time (2-3 days per week) so would need access to a train station.

Is this recent news and crime the main reason for your now wanting to move? If so I'm tempted to think you should stay put, filter and read less news articles most of which is doom, gloom and grim shit.

Not trying to downplay or trivialise your worries but crimes, killings and horrible stuff happens in every part of the world and all different areas and types of community.

You have the house newly renovated, the school for your son and the in-laws within a stone's throw.

You're good.
