...especially on the phone. On this particular occasion it’s a GP receptionist. Just talking at me very quickly, with hardly a breath or a beat to listen. Automated customer service speech. There’s a fine art to being civil, reining in an interminable talker and bringing them back to the point whilst not being too obvious. And then there are those who just have a script and they find it everso difficult to sound human or engage with you as a human being. I’ve just come off a call where I needed some clarification because there was a cock up on my prescription and I feel like I’ve been frogmarched off the call and made to feel bad for pointing out a mistake.
BTW I’ve encountered similar in other walks of life so I’m not having a dig at Dr’s receptionists generally.
