WIBU to leave kids in house?

WIBU to leave 12 and 10 year old DS's at home for two hours between 7-9. I'm thinking yes but friends of mine have said no...

Probably fine...unless they argue or are very immature.

Butternutsqoosh · 28/02/2019 11:06

I'd say it's fine

Sirzy · 28/02/2019 11:07

I wouldn’t leave a 10 year old for two hours.

GreenThing · 28/02/2019 11:08

That sounds fine.

I've never understood why the time of day/night influences whether it's OK to leave kids home alone.

If the children are trustworthy and fine with it, and at 10/12 most are, it's OK.

Yes. I do. I leave them watching a film, with emergency contact numbers and instructions not to answer the door.

notenoughbottletonight · 28/02/2019 11:13

Thank you for the reassurance :) I'll be leaving them for no more than two hours as it's just the gap I can't get a babysitter in then my mum will be there about 9. They will both have a mobile phone each too

Only you can judge if they are sensible / mature / responsible enough to be left. Nobody on here can judge that for you.

Amandette · 28/02/2019 11:17

If they get on, yes. If they fight all the time, no.

notenoughbottletonight · 28/02/2019 11:25

Sometimes they want to kill each other, sometimes they're best friends. I think I'll look for a babysitter

I babysat other people's kids at 12 so as long as they're sensible then yes, I think it's fine.
