It was so lovely- especially the Michael Angelo - but there was No emotion Not a scream, tear or tremble in sight - WTF?

@catgirl1976
me too

mathanxiety · 27/02/2019 03:32

Another possible dimwit here, but that doesn't look like the Sistine Chapel to me, unless some member of the Sistine Chapel Women's Guild has taken it upon herself to repaint it.

HappyStripper · 27/02/2019 04:09

I’m sorry OP but you really need to be more careful about posting such provocative photos on this forum. You’re actions are borderline abusive...

All these people now wishing they could levitate into that photo and screaming in anguish when they realise they can’t.

tomatostottie · 27/02/2019 11:31

Are you still in Rome? If so you need to go back to the vatican and visit the actual Sistine Chapel. Your photos were of St. Peter's. That's why no one was wailing and screaming.
I'm sorry you are disappointed but it's your own fault because you have been a bit daft and got yourself confused.

Sweetbabycheezits · 27/02/2019 11:38

Thank you for reposting the original...I seriously never laughed so hard at a thread ever.

MrsJayy · 27/02/2019 11:40

Oh i l am dissapointed you didn't collapse with the emotion of it all Grin

Hefzi · 27/02/2019 11:45

I'm another one that suspects either it wasn't the Sistine Chapel you were at, or that you are just trolling us HmmGrin

Daffodildainty · 27/02/2019 11:58

Officially I’m a twit - I thought the basilica was the same as the Sistene- ho hum will have to go back to Rome - I expect at that point I’ll levitate

Aren’t those pics from St Peter’s Basilica?

Knew you were a phoney. Tut tut, didn't scream...as if.....tut 🙄

fishonabicycle · 27/02/2019 12:29

I went there last year with husband and son. None of us screamed, and neither did anyone else in there. I even sat down in there for 20 minutes to try to catch a screamer, but no. Massive disappointment all round to be honest. They wouldn't give me a refund either 😢

BertrandRussell · 27/02/2019 12:31

“Actually I felt sad at how ostentatious it all was and the poverty that existed when it was created.“

It was a massive job creator. He didn’t actually paint it all himself. And imagine how many labourers, paint mixers, cooks and so on and so on it would have needed, never mind the colour-inners. For years!

Kedgeree · 27/02/2019 12:37

Ah well, St Peter's Basilica - meh. Nobody would scream at that...not even a sharp intake of breath.

Asta19 · 27/02/2019 12:38

BartonHollow
That reminds me of when I went to see the Golden temple. I went expecting pic 1, what I got was the same as pic 2!

Loved the screaming thread, disappointed in you OP!

I've been wondering if the Swiss Guards have noticed an influx of British women screaming or giggling in the Chapel in the past year.....

isseywithcats · 27/02/2019 12:50

i found the sistene chapel to be the most underwhelming place i have ever been in, the vatican museum was fantastic we got in to the chapel and it was that dark we couldnt see the paintings on the ceiling very well and you cant take photos, was a let down to be honest, loved Rome overall though

KittensAndCake · 27/02/2019 12:53

Omg Asta, now that would make me scream 😱

Sosad2004 · 27/02/2019 12:59

Lol, my favourite thread too. Really OP you must have a heart of stone not to be overcome and collapse into a hysterical screaming wreck😁.
You’re not allowed to take pictures in the Sistine chapel I got done off a guard for trying to sneak one. Had I read MN at the time I might have tried to sneak a little scream out too in honour of the thread.

GreyRoses · 27/02/2019 13:04

You are absolutely not allowed to take photos in the Sistine chapel, so I assume that's why you didn't.

The guards are not only very strict about it, it's wrong to.

CouldntThink · 27/02/2019 13:06

I literally clicked on this to ask if you screamed at the Michelangelo

And me!

CouldntThink · 27/02/2019 13:09

They aren’t of the Sistine chapel? Well that will teach me not to rtft....

BlueJeansNiceTop · 27/02/2019 13:13

Why is it wrong to? @GreyRoses

It’s not wrong!

ShastaBeast · 27/02/2019 13:29

I googled it too. It’s odd. They could say no flash if that is a concern. I took a sneaky one on an old style film camera back in 2004 I think.

It’s hardly a place for proper contemplation or prayer anyway.

CatandtheFiddle · 27/02/2019 13:32

Nobody screamed? Clearly the place was packed with philistines who have no feelings
