Next door building work

Less AIBU but more posting for traffic. Next door neighbours are doing their kitchen up. They both work full time so have to do bits after work etc.

We have two young kids, the youngest is 18 months with her bedroom at the back of the house.

They are currently smashing concrete and sawing very loudly. So much so we can hear it in the living room over the tv.

It's only 8:30 but the toddler has woken up several times due to the noise.

What time would be acceptable for them to stop this noise? We've not said anything yet but I'm thinking after 9pm we might just ask them if they could keep it down.

They also haven't told us that they would be doing this work and they know we have small children.

Many councils state these hours for work that affects residences:

Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm
Saturday: 8am to 1pm
Sunday and bank holidays: no noisy activities on site

I’d definitely ask them to keep it down past 8pm which at least gives them extra do you’re being fair.
