Any advice on family court 50/50 custody ond two year old and newborn? I don’t mind contact but over night stays I’m worried about when he wasn’t a hand on dad to DS.

Mami16 - I honestly think for your own well being you need to “train him up” I’m not saying he’ll get 50/50 it sounds like he won’t but he will get something and if it’s honestky going to be that bad you can only change the things in your control so teach him to bath them, send food etc

I honestly believe child has the rights to their father, but depending on age that obviously goes with how much time father should have.
As a mum of 4 with eldest 21 and youngest 10 months I believe (and I'm no perfect mother obviously) a baby under 2 Should see father couple times a week, then introduce an overnight around 2/3 years old. Obviously circumstances with each is different, work commitments etc. By the time baby is of school age I believe couple nights a week is great.

Yes agree but to go straight to being away from mum from Thursday to Monday at 11 weeks and 2 years of age is not in their best interest under our circumstances.

You're absolutely right. Stick with your guns but remember to show willing for the child's sake x

I think what you're doing is right, but you have to allow dad to now parent them his way, and that is what he is now going to have to learn, but building up is the best option

I’ve never read such rubbish in my life. All children need their father and mother equally. It’s in the interest of the child to have 50/50 custody if the parents can offer this equally
