Want to go non contact with mother but what about the rest of the family?

There have been lots of periods of non contact which is better for my mental health but tricky as my dad obviously lives with her and my aunt, her sister, lives near her so any family events will include my mum, aunt, various cousins. They live about 5 hours away from me.

I think my dad is the classic enabler, anything for an easy life, I’m stating to think he should have stepped up and been a better parent, frankly.

Has anyone managed to go non-contact but still keep up contact with extended family? The cousins are more like siblings so I’m hoping it won’t be a huge issue. They roll her eyes at her and don’t seem to realise why me and my brother left home ASAP and went as far away as we could.

Surely you can keep seeing the Aunt and Cousins at non family events, ie on your own?
