Is the bush back?

mystar · 22/02/2019 23:20

So I read an article on Tatler magazine a year or so ago about the bush being back and having frequented the gym recently I am amazed about the lack of pruning. Is no waxing/shaving a thing now?

I’ve always been a trim it short/wax bird but it seems I’m in the minority where I live. Is this the norm or is it a winter hibernation warmth thing?

I wish I had the time to do more maintenance in this regard but I’ve much more pressing things to do usually and it just isn’t a priority. Maybe they’re just busy as opposed to making fashion statements with their fanny foliage.

Schuyler · 23/02/2019 01:47

Yay, let’s all discuss our pubic hair in great detail on AIBU - the forum which has a period troll, a pee troll and a poo troll. It’s perv city on here! What’s wrong with people? Can’t even seen the actual AIBU.

ColdNeverBotheredMeAnyway · 23/02/2019 02:00

I am not judging anyone; nowhere I don’t want to see anyone with a leg up drying their pubes/vag in a mirror.

Yeah but this doesn't really happen though does it. Be honest OP

@mystar - I'm the same age as you and have similar conversations with my friends (although it's not all we talk about. Some days.) and I'd say we're a varied bunch, bush-wise.

Most of us went for full-on waxing when it became a 'thing' in our late teens/early twenties and some have carried it on to this day. The majority of us now just opt for shaving/waxing at the edges (and overall trimming) to keep everything within the confines of a bikini bottom but there is one friend who refuses to do any maintenance whatsoever these days - and has gone as far as to purchase a swimsuit with a skirt stitched onto it, to cover up any spiders legs which may seek to creep out of the edges!

I don't think it's a weird or pervy question - it's something I'm comfortable discussing with my friends and it's not like you asked for photos!

God and here I thought an NDN had stolen a bush
Confused

Morning,

We had a lot of reports come in about this thread overnight and just wanted to post to confirm that the OP's a long-term member of the site, and not (as far as we can see!) anyone with a penchant for perving about pubes.

We think this just got off to a bad start because it was late on Friday night (prime troll time).

Anyway, we can see this thread's probably reached the end of the road by now but we're going to zap the worst of the troll hunting posts.

TheSmallAssassin · 23/02/2019 11:26

I just wish people would stop being so judgemental about it, why are hairy armpits offensive? I find it horrible that you would be offended simply by how a woman looks compared to how you think she should look.

Let's just live and let live, and let go of the ridiculous ideas we have about people based on what they do with their bodily hair. Making judgements about how 'groomed" someone should be is just yet another way of keeping women in their place.

Loulzze · 23/02/2019 11:37

I'm mid 20s and myself and most friends are either bare or trimmed/shaped. Personally I wax everything off aswell as armpits but I'm always in bikini esk clothing or leotards with my legs open in close proximity to other women so feel it's necessary for myself and them!

And the whole smooth thing feels better all round too. Wax don't shave though 😬

Hotpinkangel19 · 23/02/2019 11:45

The only hair I keep is the hair on my head - wouldn't judge anyone else's choice though 🤷‍♀️

makingmammaries · 23/02/2019 11:48

@mystar: “in all my 28 years abroad, ive never seen a lady parading her public hair proudly”.

Only her private hair?

CloserIAm2Fine · 23/02/2019 11:50

OP you are being a judgemental cow

It absolutely does not affect you in any way what any other woman chooses to do with her own body hair. Whether you can see it or not. If you don’t like seeing it then stop perving on other women!

hopeful31 · 23/02/2019 11:50

Wow reading through these comments. People are so quick to judge instead of just expressing their own opinion in an appropriate way.

@mystar my friends and I discuss waxing etc often. We must have good close friends that this is acceptable.

Haven't heard if the bush is making a comeback but I'll be sticking with trimming and then waxing for beach holidays.

Loulzze · 23/02/2019 11:59

OP you are being a judgemental cow

We're all judgemental cows really, even you! Wind your neck in she's only asking 😂 Touched a nerve?

CloserIAm2Fine · 23/02/2019 12:14

I’m being a judgemental cow because I think it’s rude and unnecessary to judge other people’s body hair? Ok then Confused

Lucked · 23/02/2019 12:37

I think the OP is confusing not being ashamed with being proud.

GregoryPeckingDuck · 23/02/2019 12:39

I’m 24, like half of people my age don’t bother with pubes. It generally seemed to be either full bush or nothing these days.

spicygirl26 · 23/02/2019 12:47

Don't touch mine. The once I shaved I ended up itchy and sore so never bothered since. I don't go to the gym or swimming so no need to shower in public but when I get out the shower at home I have to dry there as much as I would anywhere else.

theultimatehousekeeper · 23/02/2019 22:52

"I was just surprised at other folks choices."

Sounds weird to me.

I didn't 'choose' to grow pubic hair - it's there part of my natural physiology.

So why are you declaring my body in it's natural state to be a 'choice'. It's default natural human being, shaving/waxing/trimming is a choice.

theultimatehousekeeper · 23/02/2019 22:55

Most days I choose to wear make-up. The rest of the time I am in my default natural state.

I'd find it really odd if someone asked me why I 'chose' not to put make up on my face. There are a million things I don't do to my natural body every day. That means I'm leaving it in its default position.

JockTamsonsBairns · 23/02/2019 23:16

I'm 45, and stopped shaving/trimming/waxing nearly twenty years ago. I'm fully natural now - legs, underarms and pubic area. I no longer go to the gym, so I'm not familiar with current etiquette but, when I used to go, I can't recall being concerned with what other women were doing - and I definitely didn't notice other women being concerned with me. I do swim every Sunday, with hairy underarms and bikini line, and I've never noticed a negative response. Maybe I'm just busy getting on with my own life? I know I don't judge other women for their hair choices, so I don't give a single thought to mine.

BlackCelebration · 23/02/2019 23:26

I saw this thread and thought it might be referring to Kate Bush. She recently re-released all her past albums in special box set format and has some more rarity releases coming up. Very disappointed that it's a different discussion altogether!
