Is the bush back?

mystar · 22/02/2019 23:20

So I read an article on Tatler magazine a year or so ago about the bush being back and having frequented the gym recently I am amazed about the lack of pruning. Is no waxing/shaving a thing now?

I’ve always been a trim it short/wax bird but it seems I’m in the minority where I live. Is this the norm or is it a winter hibernation warmth thing?

I am glad that there isn’t anything that is en vogue at the moment. It all got too much from the early 00s onward with every magazine detailing waxing and what we ‘had’ to do.

I don’t go to a gym so I have no idea what is going on in anyone else’s knickers but I am more than delighted to hear that apparently anything goes. You sound a bit judged by commenting on the drying and the hugeness. They are just part of the body, bigger boobs also need more drying than smaller ones do you find you can’t look away from bigger boobs because of there hugeness? What about backsides?.

mystar · 22/02/2019 23:55

The ladies here with the proud gardens and offensive attitudes; do you trim before getting in your bikini?

How much detail would you like mystar ? The gym not fulfilling your needs ?

Getting goady now, OP!

BreconBeBuggered · 23/02/2019 00:01

Whatever your choice, hairiness is not a 'thing'. Shaving and varieties of pubic topiary are a 'thing'. Leaving it be is merely preserving the status quo and doesn't require any conscious action.

Mine's never been gone. It's spider legs galore down there. People have been known to duck for cover when I walk past.

mystar · 23/02/2019 00:04

I am not judging anyone; nowhere I don’t want to see anyone with a leg up drying their pubes/vag in a mirror.

I go away on holiday 4/6 times a year to a variety of places and I have never seen an English woman with pubes on show.

Maybe the odd few but in all my 28 years abroad, ive never seen a lady parading her public hair proudly. I’ve always thought English people found it embarrassing.

You'd have to be very sad to be dictated to by fashion, on something so personal.

If I'm sexually active, or going for hospital appointments that involve 'down there', I'm hairless. Otherwise Its just a trim and tidy.

But you would not have said this in the 80s. People would have found you odd, or maybe even a bit of a pervert.

You have been dictated to by fashion I'm afraid!

ilovesooty · 23/02/2019 00:05

proud gardens

Stranger and stranger.

The OP isn't a troll though.

sizzledrizz · 23/02/2019 00:07

What kind of gym do you go to? I've never noticed anyone drying their vag or airing their pubes with their legs up. Too much porn hub?

theultimatehousekeeper · 23/02/2019 00:08

I'm afraid I don't wear a bikini so I am unable to provide the very detailed description of my private parts that you have come on here to ask for.

mystar · 23/02/2019 00:19

I am 39. All my friends keep their hair trim however I noted recently a lot of women seemingly have never done any maintenance. I am not a troll or a pervert.

Noticing doesn’t make me a pervert. Just observent. I attend a Virgin gym and it’s busy and close contact. I wasn’t being degrogatoty it was just an observation.

I keep mine trim as I thought that was the way. All my friends do; again it’s not a conversation you have. Hence why I asked. I don’t give a fuck; I’m not a lesbian or a troll. It was a legit question.

OP posts:
mystar · 23/02/2019 00:22

Also; all you slaying me; do you wax when it’s holiday time? I am not a perv. I’m genuinely asking but the responses are abhorrent

AssassinatedBeauty · 23/02/2019 00:23

Pubic hair doesn't need "maintenance", it's not abnormal just to leave it alone.

ilovesooty · 23/02/2019 00:24

I have no idea what any of my friends do with their pubic hair.

Why are the responses abhorrent?

Birdsgottafly · 23/02/2019 00:28

BrendasUmbrella, I'm 51. In the 80's I was hairless.

I've always been Interested in history, particularly from a Sociology POV. Since human life was recorded, people have been removing body hair.

It was Queen Victoria that put a stop to it, in the UK. Whenever female sexuality has been oppressed, public hair removal went hand-in-hand.
Likewise whenever female sexuality could be dictated by the Woman, body hair removal was the norm.

AssassinatedBeauty · 23/02/2019 00:30

What?

mystar · 23/02/2019 00:31

I go away with my friends regularly so we discuss bikini attire.

I am clearly in a minority. Me and my pals discuss waxing. I don’t want my pubic hair on show. That’s my prerogative. Conversation ends 😊

OP posts:
Birdsgottafly · 23/02/2019 00:32

BrendasUmbrella also, I had my first baby in 1985. I was told I might be shaved, so I did it myself.

"Pubic hair doesn't need "maintenance", it's not abnormal just to leave it alone."

I don't leave a lot to do with my body, alone, why can't I treat my public hair in the same way?

Now I'm post Menopause, I remove hair from everywhere. As well as facial treatments, covering grey, makeup, nail care etc.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 23/02/2019 00:35

I'm British and 50. It's never entered my head to do anything with my 'bush'. It's just there and does it's thing, and since it hasn't reached my knees yet, I assume it's self-limiting.

Why would anyone want to shave an area when they don't have to?

AuntieOxident · 23/02/2019 00:35

Been going to fumes, pools for over so years - I have ^never* seen anyone with one leg up drying their pubes/vag (sic) in the mirror.
I’ve lost count of how many times the OP says they aren’t a pervert or a troll......
(And it’s their vulva they were drying sweetie. Hmm The vag is internal. )

AuntieOxident · 23/02/2019 00:36

Gyms not fumes. 20 years.

AssassinatedBeauty · 23/02/2019 00:37

You can do what you like with your pubic hair! What I was pointing out is that it doesn't need maintenance. This idea that it's somehow lax or lacking if you don't have a maintenance routine for your pubic hair is the issue. Nobody should be "amazed" that women might choose to leave it alone.
