To think THAT scene in the film Mother was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen?

I watched it months ago now and I am still haunted by it!!!

afrikat · 22/02/2019 18:10

I couldn't watch it and I've watched a lot of brutal horror films. I realised what was coming and fast forwarded Shock

SquigglySquaw · 22/02/2019 18:11

I haven't seen it but now I really want to know what happens!

hendal · 22/02/2019 18:13

It was awful. I’m normally rather blasé about these things, but that was hideous. I feel a little sick just thinking about it.
I could see what was coming with it TBH but had no idea it would be that graphic

Mediumsizeddancer · 22/02/2019 18:13

Haven’t seen it (I hated every second of Black Swan by the same director, absolute self satisfied, wanky drivel) and I’m curious too!

Bagpuss5 · 22/02/2019 18:15

Darren Aronofsky - the director - I''ll avoid his films.

LoudBatPerson · 22/02/2019 18:15

The scene near the end just before it all loops round again?

Yeah that was a surprise. I watched it on a plane having seen nothing about the film before so I had no idea.

I did enjoy the film though and the way the theme was portrayed.

zippey · 22/02/2019 18:16

Loved it, it’s one of these films I have gone back to watch again and again. I loved the slow build up and the manic climax, and the whole Biblical analogy. 5/5

notanothernam · 22/02/2019 18:19

Is that the one with Jennifer Lawrence?

DannyOD · 22/02/2019 18:20

I enjoyed the rest of the film but that bit at the end just made me feel sick.

Toupholsterornot · 22/02/2019 19:09

Is it on Netflix?

SaucyJack · 22/02/2019 19:12

It’s on NOW.

I hated that bloody film. I didn’t realise what it was really about until watching it.

Utterly pretentious wank.

Toupholsterornot · 22/02/2019 19:14

What's it about?;Is it scary? Don't have now

newtownstarling · 22/02/2019 19:19

My god I was traumatised! I watch all sorts of horror stuff, AHS etc but that was just awful. Really enjoyed it up until it started to go all weird.

CokeAndCrispsAndDip · 22/02/2019 19:28

I don't watch horrors but really want to know what happens!!

SlangBack · 22/02/2019 19:30

I think I want to know? No I dont.

NCforthis2019 · 22/02/2019 19:32

I didn’t get that stupid show at all. And as for that scene - like a cheap thrill. When I read the meaning about it, what it was supposed to be, I was even more angry. I’m Catholic too! Pretentious work trying to be ‘artsy’ - it was too interpretive. Ghost rider was a better film and I gave that 1/100!

WaitrosePigeon · 22/02/2019 19:33

The baby death scene?

SaucyJack · 22/02/2019 19:34

Nah, I’m not giving spoilers away.

Don’t Google it either.

It is worth watching cold just for that “What the shitting fuck just happened here people!?” feeling you get at the end.

You’ll just ruin it if you know what’s coming. It’s not a traditional horror at all though.

Romanov · 22/02/2019 19:35

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother!

this film?
(if so, plot is there)

RiverTam · 22/02/2019 19:35

Is this not the film where Daniel Craig has an affair with an older woman played by Anne somebody? No?

NotANotMan · 22/02/2019 19:39

I just read the Wikipedia plot summary. What a load of wank!

gower4 · 22/02/2019 19:42

That's The Mother. The Daniel Craig one. That's far weirder!!!!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 22/02/2019 19:43

I didn't get the message until looked it up. I thought at first it was to do with mum in laws or letting strangers take over your life... Then it all went a bit off the wall.

gkite0202 · 22/02/2019 19:46

Most boring film ever created Grin couldn't enjoy it at all. I'm not sure what part you are on about OP as I was zoning in and out Grin

LunchBoxPolice · 22/02/2019 19:54

I found that scene upsetting. The rest of the film was just odd.
