AIBU to be overly concerned about Shamim Begum's newborn child?

Hi everyone, i've never posted before but always "lurked" as I find that the mumsnet community is one of the few places that I can get answers from within my journey of motherhood, having 2 Dd's myself.

Anyway, to the point, I just want to know what your opinions are regarding baby Jarrah of Shamim Begum? I'm overthinking this way too much. I have absolutely no sympathy for the woman!!
I realise there are millions of babies sadly within our world that are within destitute circumstances, but with this little one being such a high profile case, how's he gonna turn out? Like her other two children?
malnourished and diseased, then ultimately deceased! Or perhaps using his Sunday afternoon to acquire the skills to decapitate someone, as opposed to going to his swimming lesson or watching Pepp Pig?
Do we, as a civilised society have any moral obligation to have a duty of care to baby Jarrah?

Just for context I believe in God but have no denomination, my belief system is that you didn't ask to be born, and you will die!
Thanks for reading and look forward to the expression of views Xx

There are numerous threads about this if you do a quick search

southernetter · 21/02/2019 02:05

I’ve been thinking about the baby a lot today too. I wish the baby would be given safe asylum. He is an innocent in all of this :(

heavensdevil · 21/02/2019 02:31

Yes redglitter I'm sure there are numerous posts surrounding this subject within the forums of the mumsnet community since it is the most notorious headline
, whats your opinion though? X

I would imagine the baby will have to be handed over to authorities at some point.
What country I wouldn't even hazard a guess. However I can't see the mother and child being kept together.

Redglitter · 21/02/2019 02:35

Ive already posted on the thread with almost 800 posts. I dont see the point in starting a fresh discussion with the same posts

Monty27 · 21/02/2019 02:39

Perhaps there's other threads that have been done to death. If OP wants to open a fresh discussion in light of new information, what's the harm? @redglitter

Like you heavenI've been really worrying about the poor baby as well.

None of this is of that child's choosing and it wasn't a choice either of her other poor children had neither,I would hope that the child would be removed and taken care of properly by a normal family(not one that thinks blowing people up is a good idea)but I know for that to happen and for the child to grow up without serious issues that child's parentage would have to be kept from the child and I can't see SS anywhere agreeing with that sadly.

LikeDolphinsCanSwim · 21/02/2019 02:47

Well, at least one of the other threads has descended into people arguing amongst themselves rather than about the actual issue.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this (which is a shame because I quite like this username), but where is the evidence that it is even her baby? It was in someone else's arms when it first appeared and she totally ignored it throughout the first interview. And looking at her, I find it hard to believe that she has lost two children to malnutrition in recent months.

Her story might be true, but I'm not going to take her word for anything without independent corroboration. I don't think she is to be trusted to that extent.

ohtheholidays · 21/02/2019 03:19

likeDolphinI hadn't even thought of that,I'd presume someone else wouldn't let her go to another country with they're newborn baby but being as some of them are happy to blow themselves up if the baby was just being used as a way of getting her back into the UK I suppose anything is possible.

Hollowvictory · 21/02/2019 03:38

She might not even have had a baby.
If she has, she's safe in a camp with food, shelter, medic care, water and access to the world's media. She's not starving in a gutter.
She's fine. Much more so than the people she's beheaded, tortured, stoned, bombed. Save your sympathy for her victims.

heavensdevil · 21/02/2019 05:46

She's a disgrace! How dare she even contemplate coming back never mind expecting sympathy! I pray for her baby he is an innocent little soul for now. I pray that where ever he ends up, his sick and twisted parents along with their warped concepts have absolutely no influence in his upbringing

It would be possible to check if she was the mother. And that the baby is the grandchild of the GP in the UK.

Malnutrition isn’t always starvation. Maybe they were fed inappropriate foods? Had formula made with dirty water?

I wish they could bring the baby back.

LollyHolly24 · 21/02/2019 06:45

There are babies in horrific conditions all over the world!? Why the hell would you want to help that scumbags child out of all the other millions.

GoFiguire · 21/02/2019 06:51

This has better not end up in the tabloids.

user1457017537 · 21/02/2019 06:58

You would have to be a hard hearted cold bitch to not be concerned for this poor baby. To have lost two babies to malnutrition is horrific. However she doesn’t look malnourished does she? I think she will be allowed back as she has had another baby. Her aim is to get her husband and his family here as well. She is manipulating everyone.

ILoveBray · 21/02/2019 07:42

You sound like a journalist fishing for quotes OP. You've 'lurked' for ages, and this subject is what you choose to make your first post about? Right.

Read the other threads. Shamima Begum has been done to death on here already.

Moving on......

Smellbellina · 08/03/2019 23:31

According to current reports the child has died. Sajid Javid has sacrificed that child for his own political gains. He’s scum, I have no respect for him what so ever.

malificent7 · 08/03/2019 23:32

Is the child not dead? According to the bbc the poor thing died.

Smellbellina · 08/03/2019 23:35

Yes it would seem he has. But at least Begum got her just deserts and Sajid got to show his balls. Idiot.

EnoughAlready999 · 10/03/2019 08:12

Hope she uses contraception from now on.

MorningRichie · 10/03/2019 16:16

You're assuming there was an actual baby. Theres no evidence to confirm this was the case

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/03/2019 16:20

Theres no evidence to confirm this was the case

Hmm be an idiot all you like but don’t visit it on others. A very quick google will tell you there was indeed a baby backed up with evidence and everything.

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 10/03/2019 16:29

Hope she uses contraception from now on.

Because thats easy to get hold of in a refugee camp, along with flush toilets, clean water and three course dinner

BejamNostalgia · 10/03/2019 16:30

Sajid Javid has sacrificed that child for his own political gains.

No he hasn’t. The child retained his citizenship and nobody in our government prevented him coming here. Her family and her lawyer wanted to collect the child, bring him to the UK, get him treated by the UK and raise him here pending her appeal over her UK citizenship.

Begun refused, she said in an interview with Sky News that she would not allow the baby to be brought here for treatment unless the UK agreed to let her in too. Basically she used the baby as a bargaining chip, a blackmail tool.

The UK declined to let her enter so she refused to let him come. So he died.

It’s her fault he died and nobody else’s.

BejamNostalgia · 10/03/2019 16:31

there was indeed a baby backed up with evidence and everything.

I think there is evidence a baby existed but no confirmation it was hers.
