I'm unwell and DP has pissed me off

Been suffering with glandular fever for over a week. I've been going into work, taking care of our toddler etc when I've felt up to it but I've been back and forth from the hospital I've been in so much pain and I've spent a lot of time in bed in pain, feeling weak and desperate to get better.

DP has been good, in most aspects. He's completely let me rest and occupied DS - he's took days off work to be able to do that. But still, the place has been a bit of a tip, there's been days where DS has no clean clothes and I'd have to ask him to go and get shopping after we already had nothing left.

I got slightly better over the weekend but I was still trying to rest so I could get back into work this week.

DS is at nursery today. DP is off work. I woke up with bad diarrhoea (sorry!) and vomiting so I'm also off work. DP dropped DS to nursery and I asked him if he could get me a smoothie and water and some food (because my tummy was so off). He told me he didn't have enough money for food, and brought back a smoothie and water. I assumed he was going to go back to the shop (this was at lunchtime) but instead, he's just played on his PS4 all day. I've made comments about how much I need food etc but he's just stayed on his PS4.

It's 5pm and the illness still hasn't let up, I'm up and down to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I asked him at about 4.40pm if he could just go and get DS from nursery and get me some food and he said yes. 15-20 minutes pass and I did shout at this point at the fact that it's 5pm, I've had everything coming out all ends of my system all day while still suffering with swollen glands and having a mild fever and I still haven't even ate one thing to try and help my tummy! He shouted at me to stop telling him what to do, told me I was well enough at the weekend to go and get my own food and that he is suffering bad with a headache (I've been putting it down to him being out at the weekend!) so he's also unwell and really wanted to rest and can't be assed going shopping. He shouted because he feels unwell and isn't up to 'running around for me' and cleaning etc (I literally just expect food to be in, some basic clean clothes for DS and the place not to look horrific!).

He's gone now on the 30 min trip to get DS from nursery and to bring some food back for me, I feel absolutely horrifically sick. I told him to get ibuprofen and paracetamol for his headache when he was at the shop this morning and he completely ignored that too! I get that he needs a rest but I feel seriously unwell and out of 4 hours sitting on his PS4, could he not have took a 10 minute trip to the shop? Sad

Yanbu.

That doesn't sound like a loving partner at all.

BlackeyedGruesome · 18/02/2019 17:39

Get well soon. Flowers

He sounds like a colossal prick. Yanbu

LannieDuck · 18/02/2019 17:41

Given he's been pretty good over the last few days, is it possible he's coming down with it now too?

TheGreatestShoeman · 18/02/2019 17:48

Can't be that bad a headache if he's managed 4 hours on the PlayStation. If he felt that unwell he could have grabbed the bits from the shop then slept it off while the ds was at nursery.

ThreeAnkleBiters · 18/02/2019 17:50

He sounds like a dick. I'd expect a 14 year old to be more helpful.

user013 · 18/02/2019 17:51

@TheGreatestShoeman @ThreeAnkleBiters exactly, I'm just annoyed at the immaturity! I feel like when I feel this unwell that I shouldn't be worrying about doing the shopping or washing, let alone going until 5pm with no food!

Call someone else and have them bring you food.

labazsisgoingmad · 18/02/2019 17:58

well if he had a headache being on a playstation wouldnt do it much good but by the same token if you have sickness eating is probably not a good idea give your stomach chance to settle
