Late Builders...

Builders insisted they would be here, at 7.30am on a Sunday, to continue working on my house. It’s 8.07am... there are 0 builders here!

I’ve only gone and been up at bloody 7am (Wink) sat around, waiting like a tit! It’s my weekend, I work full time & am currently 32 weeks pg - am I being VU to be annoyed they haven’t showed?!

I expect your neighbours are very glad they haven't turned up on a Sunday.

Mewe · 17/02/2019 08:11

Luckily I don’t have neighbours (in middle of countryside) otherwise I would have told them no to their “early start” Grin.

Ah ok point taken

I've always found builders to be late on a weekend. Hope they show up!

Hassled · 17/02/2019 08:14

I thought the rule was no noisy building work allowed on a Sunday unless emergency work. Are you sure they didn't mean Monday?

MyOtherProfile · 17/02/2019 08:15

Don't think that rule counts if you're in the middle of nowhere Hassled.

cocodash · 17/02/2019 08:16

Also pregnant and waiting on workies who said would be here for 8am.....

Hassled · 17/02/2019 08:19

Yes, I spotted that after I posted but am now wondering if maybe it does. I mean, if the environmental health law (Is it a law? Or just a guideline? Does it vary according to the local authority?) says "No noisy work on a Sunday" is there really going to be an "unless you're in the middle of nowhere and have no neighbours in earshot" exception? There certainly should be, but there possibly isn't.

Woohoo they have turned up!
