sorry do you mind, it's just that there is so much more traffic here.

so hopefully I will have a job in leeds. but there are so many schools and areas I don't know where to start. I emailed roundhay just because it seemed to have a primary and a secondary and as DS has to go into year 6 I was trying to find somewhere where he could stay with the same group, or be able to stay with friends going into secondary IUKWIM. Is there anyone on here who knows a school that isn't oversubscribed and is 'good' - I'm not so bothered about ofsted, I'm more interested in friendly, and with lots of football! Roundhay was oversubscribed, probably cos it's excellent? So nice-ish area, near to the city, with spaces in schools? I'm only renting so am flexible with where. But to get into a school you have to be in the area so I don't know where to start. Anyone any advice where I should start

Roundhay is a good choice. Anywhere that is good is going to be oversubscribed. I can PM you further info as I'm a teacher living in the Leeds area. Please feel free to message me x

Would your son be going to secondary school in september then? If so it's difficult because the application deadline has finished (offers are sent out beginning of March), so you will probably be on a waiting list for any good school to be honest. You will also need to get a move on as the deadline to get on the waiting lists is the middle of March.

Roundhay is a nice area & the schools are pretty good. Most N Leeds schools are Good or Outstanding TBH.

You're probably best off speaking to someone at the council though as I'm sure they will have a system for dealing with kids who join part way through the school year or in Y6 etc. Most of the kids in the primary schools round us go to the nearest secondary so the chances are that he will be with the children in his Y6 class wherever he ends up.
