Name changed as previous threads outing!

Where I live we have an ice cream van who's been visiting more since November than he did all summer. It's been 3 times a day throughout January and February so far. Oh keeps joking that he's selling more than just ice cream! AIBU for thinking this is plausible? He does sell ice cream, but equally the majority of his sales seem to be to adults, and why would you bring an ice cream van round 3 times daily in January or in snow..? Is this actually a thing, or is it just a myth and we're being a bit over suspicious!?

That sounds so dodgy, got to be selling drugs.

As well as ice cream, he sells those horrible boiled hotdogs though.

Most drug dealers will chop and change what they drive, to avoid being so blatant.

They tend not to blast 'O Sole Mio around random side streets, despite what some people might have you think

If they're going to sell drugs, they tend to do it at festivals etc

My local ice-cream van used to sell individual cigarettes to kids and drugs to teenagers.

It’s worse here, we can here an ice cream van every Saturday but never see one. It’s usually in the morning too, and not a car around! Spooooky

Mary Coughlan had a song called 'Ice Cream Man' back in the late 80s/early 90s where the ice cream man sold heroin as well as ice cream.

Report to crimestoppers with reg if van and times he turns up if you thinks it’s suspicious.

I remember a case in the news a while ago here of some guy getting prosecuted for selling drugs out of an ice cream van.
So anything is possible...

Do you live near an Industrial Estate / Business park? There’s one near me that’s actually a sandwich/ snack van for office workers.

I thought it was standard that ice cream vans sold drugs. The one on our street growing up certainly did 😀 no disrespect intended to any legit ice cream van people

We live on a council estate, def not a sandwich van! As I said, they do definitely sell ice cream (my ds has had it from them), but I'm wondering if they have other options available too! I'll have to keep an eye and think about whether I'm suspicious enough to report it, I'd feel awful if he was just driving round to avoid going home or something 😂
