Clear windscreen and then set off rather than hold people up by driving slow

AIBU thinking that people should clear their windscreen then set off In The morning so they can drive at a reasonable speed for the road straight away. Had a car pull out in front of me this morning who hadn't cleared his windscreen so he drove slowly while it cleared, holding me up.

Isn’t it illegal not to clear your screen?

ineedaholidaynow · 15/02/2019 07:31

I thought it was illegal too

JenniferJareau · 15/02/2019 07:32

YANBU. What a dangerous thing to do.

Bluelonerose · 15/02/2019 07:34

It's illegal I hate people who do this if they cause an accident they'll have no-one to blame but themselves.

megletthesecond · 15/02/2019 07:35

Yanbu. It's illegal.
There's a lot of shit and dangerous drivers out there.

GruciusMalfoy · 15/02/2019 08:19

YANBU, it's selfish, impatient, and unsafe.

HappyHarmonica · 15/02/2019 14:30

Thanks all. Glad you agree. I was not in a good mood this morning. I make sure I leave in good time but still don't appreciate other drivers holding me up on my way to work.

Yes (although how some taxis manage with their Dixons display of devices on their screen get away with it, is another matter).

Beware of a screen re-freezing as you drive if you don't clear it thoroughly too - can easily happen if you use de-icer, and then speed off before the heater has kicked in. (FiL was stopped and got points for that a few years back ...)
