Is anybody else watching this?

One of the couples take their dog out to hunt rabbits and squirrels that they can eat.

They've just shown him with a dead rabbit he has caught skinning it in the kitchen Sad

Horrendous..

You work in recruitment Dorset so not a charity. Yet you have 50+ people there who arent being paid a wage.

clairemcnam · 02/03/2019 15:25

Charities still recruit staff.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:26

WeeTinker. If you ever searched my history you’ll see that I’ve posted before about my role as an HR Manager as have responded on the employment forum etc but don’t let the facts stand in your way 🙄

For someone who’s been out of the employment market for a while and was ‘managed out’ of their previous organisation, you think you know a lot about recruitment...

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:28

Helena. For a start, you have no idea what organisation I work for but as a matter of fact we are classed as a charity. Do you. It think that charities have to recruit staff too? 😳

And we clearly don’t have 50 people ‘working’ for us who aren’t paid. We have had that number of people volunteering with us over the last couple of years.

HelenaDove · 02/03/2019 15:29

So what are the roles that these 50+ people doing in return for their JSA/UC ?

HelenaDove · 02/03/2019 15:30

Over the past couple of years. Oh i see You have stayed in personal contact with them all then.

Madein1995 · 02/03/2019 15:31

To be fair Helena allegations like that are usually made by members of the public and then looked into quite deeply before people start suspending benefit and hauling people in for questioning. I never had an issue, neither did anyone I know of, while there might be some truth in your argument I do think maybe that's more an excuse and not a reason? Tbh I can see staff looking into things if someone is volunteering 24hrs a week, but 6? It seems like every suggestion is met with a no. And as I said the jobcentre actually advise people to volunteer as it improves skills and morale

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/03/2019 15:32

Hi, welcome to the internet where anyone can say they're anything. It does not make it fact.

I could invent a new username now, post a few Google searches bits of info and claim I'm a tax expert. You could couldn't prove otherwise.

If you work so closely with benefit claimants in HR and recruitment you'd know better than blanket reference to 'Benefit' and you'd know the differences between Universal credit, JSA, TC, IS etc etc.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:34

Helena. Yes, we stay in touch with them because they still use our services as they are also customers, hence knowing so much about their situations.

I have also stayed in very close contact with around 12 of them because following volunteering with us they successfully applied for jobs with us and they were/are now my colleagues.

It’s good this volunteering 😊

If you are called up for and partake in Jury service on legacy benefit you will naturally migrated to #UniversalCredit

Some reasons when you will be migrated from legacy to Universal Credit in full service areas:
Receives a benefit sanction,
On IB JSA & attends court/ jury service.
On JSA and remanded in custody.
On working tax credits and become sick.

clairemcnam · 02/03/2019 15:36

Dorset I suspect strongly they are not on JSA.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:37

WeeTinker. More excuses I see! Check my MN history, it’s all right there 😉

When did I say I worked closely with benefit claimants? I simply said that people volunteer within my organisation, doesn’t mean I manage the volunteering programme.

Xenia · 02/03/2019 15:37

It's not easy to live in deprived areas with hardly any money but ther eis a pattern those of us who hav done better often do see in others that everything we suggest to them that might help they never want or are able to do - there is always some reason why that particular suggestion doesn't work for them. That's a shame as it means they end up relying on the state which under Labour or the Tories is never a bed of roses.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:40

Clairemcman. Most of them are, we also run free access to work courses with a qualification and work experience which has helped many of them into employment.

Our staff also volunteer regularly (we give them paid time off to do that) and therefore we have close contacts with many charities and organisations who are crying out for help.

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/03/2019 15:42

There's no point checking your history, are you usually so obtuse?

Check my history.. let me know how many discrepancies you find.

This is an internet forum, anyone can say anything and that doesn't make it true.

I believe there's even a board somewhere that tracks people that smell of bullshit.

Now I can tell you I've been an engineer on 40k... Doesn't make.it true... I may have changed certain facts to avoid outing...
I may have been HR Manager to a multinational company.. or a coffee boy at BT.. you'll never know..

I may say I live in Dundee, I may say I live in Hartlepool, doesn't make it true either.

You may say I'm a idiot, you may say I'm a liar, you You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

clairemcnam · 02/03/2019 15:47

Dorset Unless they are on a specific job centre backed scheme, I am very surprised. My adviser was really suspicious when I said I volunteered, and emphasised I should not do more than 5 hours. Now maybe your local job centre is different?

I agree that sometimes people get too focused on what they cant do. But also sometimes the advice offered to people on benefits is bloody useless.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:53

WeeTinker. Yes because actually checking the facts would prove you wrong so you’ll clearly avoid doing that Hmm

You’re obviously not in HR as you know nothing about it as your comment before showed. Although it didn’t stop you trying to tell everyone else how to do it.

Whether you were or weren’t an engineer I couldn’t really care less. You’re not currently ‘in’ anything though, isn’t that rather the point?

At some point you will want/need/be made to find employment and you might do well to drop the silly “I’m more clever than everyone” act as trust me it doesn’t go well in the workplace.

Dorsetdays · 02/03/2019 15:56

Claire. To be fair, our volunteering tends to be ongoing so wouldn’t usually amount to more than 5 hours pw for many. We’re not using these people as free labour, they are involved with how we run our organisation, how we shape our services, auditing us, editing our website etc. some volunteer during the day, others evenings or weekends.

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/03/2019 15:57

Yes because actually checking the facts

Again..

Just because you posted something on here doesn't make it fact.

If it did I'd post something like:
I'm 6ft 4
Im married to Tara strong
I'm a millionaire.

Magically it doesn't make it fact.

Doth thou comprehendeth?

clairemcnam · 02/03/2019 15:59

Dorest Then they would be fine. But the two days a week you originally said would not be okay, unless was a few hours each day.

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/03/2019 15:59

You’re not currently ‘in’ anything though

Are you sure about that?
I may have posted it.. doesn't mean it's true..

Claire. Yes some do a few hours most days but the majority are involved for probably less.

Despite the silliness on here, it genuinely works and many of those people are now in good jobs. At the end of the day that’s all that matters Smile

clairemcnam · 02/03/2019 16:07

I know volunteering helps get people into jobs. I also know in my field that being allowed to volunteer for more hours would have been far more of a help than having to apply for jobs I had no chance of getting.

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/03/2019 16:12

WeeTinker. I ‘comprendeth’ that you’re an idiot hmm

Oh ow, what a burn.. jeez how will I ever get over that..

Oh, btw, never said you pretending for my benefit.. thanks for thinking im important tho. Grin
