To expect NRP to facilitate weekend sports fixtures?

NRP moved @40miles away. Unreasonable thunderwhatsit is putting it lightly.

DC2 avid sport person. Swimming & tennis particularly. Have moved Saturday AM swimming lessons as NRP moving meant impossible to attend, now DC2 does it in the week. Tennis not so easy. Cup matches coming up and fixtures being arranged on the EOW DC2 staying with NRP. AIBU to expect facilitation of DC2 attendance? Do I simply send dates / fixtures and say "please ensure DC2 gets to these matches."?

They moved. Surely this was in their contemplation at the time of their move?

YANBU at all to send them that info!!

ScoobyCan · 13/02/2019 10:08

Thank you @Skittlesss - most humorously apparently I suggested NRP move (??) and there was no consultation regarding logistics. Narcissists like this one often play the "who can we blame today?" game. It's so boring...... 🙄

How is your relationship with them?
If you think they will be difficult just to 'get at you' is your DC old enough to discuss with the NRP themselves? Maybe they can ask if they can be collected after the fixtures, or see if NRP can attend with them etc.

YANBU I am NRP and would jump at the chance - I am currently taking court action to try and get a full weekend a fortnight and if successful will obviously be picking up all activities.

ScoobyCan · 13/02/2019 10:27

@badlydrawnperson I wish you were my DC NRP.

@ScoobyCan and I wish you were my DD's RP !!

blackteasplease · 13/02/2019 13:19

If they care about their dc they will take them to the fixtures!

Is the lack of interest partly because of the sex of dc2 by any chance? Would RP be taking them if they were the other sex? Sometimes it's much easier if you tell us what the sex of all the parties is!

ScoobyCan · 13/02/2019 16:56

All DC are male! NRP has never been interested in sport. Nor has NRP ever been interested in doing anything other than their choice of activity. DC are now getting older and things crop up at weekends. It was a predictable outcome of moving away ergo less responsibility I expect.

I've emailed the fixtures and asked for a response out of courtesy for the coaching staff involved. Here's hoping.... doesn't hold out much hope of a positive response

At least DC2 is totally on board - schedule of fixtures is already up on the wall!
