To have time off work for this

I have been diagnosed with a kidney infection which started at the weekend.

I've been in a lot of pain and am currently on antibiotics.

My temp is still higher than it should be (but I am cold) and I keep feeling nauseous on and off. I am so tired as it's very painful when I lie down so end up sitting up in bed and waking regularly in the night.

If I'm being honest, I probably could sit at my desk for the day but my God, I'm so tired and so so miserable and sore, I just want to go home and curl up.

Take your time to recover, if you go back before you're ready you could end up needing even more time off. Get well soon x

Yes, you need a rest x

You need to rest, whenever I've had a kidney infection I've felt awful. Stick the telly on and do nothing.

Of course you should take time off work. Even if you could try to work, doing so and the commute will just mean you take longer to recover, so your productivity will be worse overall. Is your employer difficult about sick leave?

They aren't difficult so far as I know but I haven't been here long hence my reluctance.

I had one and was told to take a minimum of a week off work, and to get signed off for a further week if I felt I needed it. This was by a specialist. He said they really take it out of you and it takes ages to feel back to normal in terms of energy levels. He was right! Get well soon.
