To have perfect job but still job hunt every day

My job is pretty perfect- really well paid, nice people, quick commute, really flexible, interesting and varied etc but I still search for jobs every day. None ever pay as well, are as local and definitely wouldn’t be as flexible or as nice team, but it’s as though I need to continually check in case there’s something else out there for me. Why can’t I just be happy?

Biscuit

No harm in looking though is there!

WineAndTiramisu · 11/02/2019 21:47

Same reason I look at right move a lot, even though I'd never move!

Wrongdissection · 11/02/2019 21:48

Not sure why the biscuit. But I get you. I have an ace job, part time, working from home, super flexible and in my field which does not lend itself to home working at all. Still look at other jobs though. I liken it to my right move addiction. No plans to move house but I just like to see what is out there!

Snap wineandtiramasu

Coffeeandcrumpet · 11/02/2019 21:48

I do this too, I have no idea what I'm looking for because very little would match up to my job, despite the crap pay.

mrsbeeton999 · 11/02/2019 21:49

Oh yes I look at right move every day too

I do the same.

My jobs great now but it just takes a change of management etc to completely change it. Work wise always put yourself first.

mrsbeeton999 · 11/02/2019 21:58

You’re right Hamilton it wouldn’t take much to change it. Maybe I’m subconsciously worrying what else I’d do if I start hating this job or get made redundant etc.
