AIBU to think FOD should be able to tell his kid apart?

(FOD = father of daughters, on Instagram)

Does anyone else find it weird that FOD can’t tell which of his twin daughters is which?

I get that they’re identical (and they really are visibly so) but he’s their dad!

I used to babysit identical twin girls when they were between the ages of 14 months and 2, and within a month I could reliably tell them apart. It was partly down to incredibly subtle variations in their appearance (e.g. the way their hair fell), but mostly it was their personalities. They were very obviously two different people.

Maybe FOD’s twins are also identical in their personalities and that’s why it’s so hard, or maybe he’s just joking about it for the sake of being funny on Instagram. But I must admit I find it weird if it’s something he can’t reliably do, especially as he’s clearly a hands on dad!

We had a dad that brought the wrong twin to A&E once.

DillyDilly · 12/02/2019 10:15

@Pommes - maybe, or maybe it was a gifted experience or similar and she didn’t want to mention.

FOD’s post last night was just pure cringey, public declarations of love often tend to be stretching the truth. Or maybe it was the best he could come up with creativity-wise!

I was bemused at MOD’s recent posts on menstrual cups, one day she’s FOD running out to get tampons, etc, next asking for recommendations for the cups, obviously got ‘sent’ some immediate afterwards and the. Days later giving a review in a few. She couldn’t have used these cups on her heaviest days, (or if at all really), so pointless reviewing, she should have waited until the next month but I suppose wanted to get in there before another Instagrammer had the same idea.

And what’s with Mother Pukka constantly bringing too small clothes into the changing room, she seems to select the most unflattering clothes so she can do the mock horrified posts.

CameliaCamelia · 12/02/2019 10:18

They are all pretentious and pointless

Except Susie verill. I like her

NCjustforthisthread · 12/02/2019 10:20

Who is FOD? I thought FOD was ‘fuck off dear’ Confused

Mumof3dragons · 12/02/2019 10:48

@NCfor this thread...LOL! FOD should FOD

Absolutely. Sick. Of. Him. And his wife. Don't follow, but their mugs show up in all the suggested posts...amazed their egos fit in the same room tbh.

Pommes · 12/02/2019 10:55

I like Susie Verill too despite her Mumsnet rant of last year. Always transparent with (fairly few) Ads and Gifts, with interesting content we'll bypass the odd random bikini pic. She also seems to be relatively independent of the Instamum crew.

Mumof3dragons · 12/02/2019 11:01

Love how they blame mumsnet for basically showing other opinions... rather than the echo chamber of fawning bullshit they lap up from their fangirlz

theharlotletter · 12/02/2019 11:05

Looks like he's had a quick peek. I see someone has been reporting busily.

RockyFlintstone · 12/02/2019 11:09

I reported one of the posts to be fair, but I can see that one of mine has been deleted as well 😂

Hogtini · 12/02/2019 11:27

Love Susie waves to Susie if she's reading. And Rosie Ramsey is my ultimate favourite, so funny.

hopeishere · 12/02/2019 11:33

I got told off and deleted on another thread for saying that @DillyDilly but I totally agree it's so contrived - the clothes are a size too small deliberately, plus in one she obviously took her bra off to make it even more unflattering.

AnyaMumsnet · 12/02/2019 11:47

Hi folks,

Just a reminder that, while opinions and criticism are fine, personal attacks and anything else which breaks our TGs are not. Do please remember that the folk you're discussing may well be reading - and are likely MNers too. Honest feedback can be useful, but please do keep it in the spirit.

PengAly · 12/02/2019 11:53

Not sure if this thread really needs a MNHQ warning....been loads of others recently which have been very offensive, insulting and full of triggers that don't get a warning when they should. I'm suspecting a famous instagrammer made a few complaints therefore gets a quick response.

CameliaCamelia · 12/02/2019 12:13

Oh don't worry HQ!! 'Honest feedback' you say?

Easy

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/02/2019 12:55

Really SockQueen?! Shock But they sound different! Maybe just to DD and me.

LMBad · 12/02/2019 13:06

Of course he can tell them apart, that is just staged for the gram like the rest of their posts.

Unfollowed both when I saw MOD took the twins out in public with full blown chicken pox. The entitlement is unreal.

I think this is fair enough. Once it’s no longer contagious, if the kids feel well enough what’s the harm? Chickenpox can look awful for ages, but once the blisters have scabbed and dried up it’s safe to be out and about.

OP posts:
PengAly · 12/02/2019 13:31

I think the chickenpox posts were ridiculous. She got a lot of hate from non UK followers where chicken pox vaccine is routine in their countries but as it isn't in the UK many people blamed her for being an anti vaxxer and sure enough her loyal fans came to her rescue. IMO she knew she would get a harsh reaction like that and taking them out with the chicken pox was just her way of goading for more reactions to boost her posts. She has previously cyber bullied people who publically disagree with her. Neither of them reply to messages anyway and I do need to unfollow them but part of me enjoys giggling to myself at the ridiculousness of them

Amanduh · 12/02/2019 13:42

It wasn’t safe to be out and about though. They’d only had it for a couple of days, she said there were more showing up at the time, and was asking for remedies, and she took them out and about with it. I asked on her instagram, but funnily enough, it was deleted.

Amanduh · 12/02/2019 13:45

Also lol at MOD being ‘unaffected.’ Her jewellery line - hundreds of pounds for plated metal - shows that. She’s been nasty to quite a few people too. Her and her instamum ‘squad’ are sickly. Like Susie though.

LMBad · 12/02/2019 13:54

She took them out a day or two after they became symptomatic.

cakesandphotos · 12/02/2019 13:57

Wow. You can unfollow you know. Even block. I personally like them both, i find them entertaining and witty. Just remember they’re real people not robots who can take all the vitriol thrown their way

elloelloello · 12/02/2019 14:00

I don’t follow either MOD or FOD, but my BiL has identical twin daughters

I find it easy to tell them apart when they’re together (and standing still Grin) as there are slight differences

It’s when they’re apart I find it quite hard to tell which is which

Pommes · 13/02/2019 00:49

Papa Pukka (Mother Pukka's husband) has a genuinely funny account. Most of his stories relate to his lunchtime sandwiches and he doesn't seem entirely comfortable with the whole social media sharing thing, but his comments are very witty.

Klopptimist · 13/02/2019 02:24

Of course he can tell them apart. I'd estimate 90% of Instagram is as fake as fuck. He just wants you to look at pictures of his children then look at more pictures of them. Also, if he's taken infectious poxy children out and about then he's a massive bell end, putting other people's health at risk for 'likes' to boost an already over-inflated ego is a vile and cunty thing to do.
