Just popped home at lunch time to check on dpets.
Ddogs happy to see me as per, dcat smelled my salmon /cheese wrap and decided to sit on my plate and share it. Not content with just that he wanted to lick the lid of the rice pot for dessert. So I patiently sat and held it while he enjoyed the raspberry sauce also!
Sometimes not this indulgent with the dc!!
Do you humour your dpets?

Catface is allowed to sleep on bed next to me. Much to dhs dislike. She has a special blanket for the bed which I put over the duvet during the day so she’s comfortable and I lift the blinds so she can sit on the window sill.

I bought her a water fountain so she can have fresh running filtered water at all times (saves me turning the tap on for her all the time!)

recrudescence · 11/02/2019 13:27

My dog has a pig’s ear if he has been a very good boy.

Piewife · 11/02/2019 13:30

Haha "dpet" 😂

My cat is hard done by. He gets the occasional dreamies treat when he goes to the vet, but that's about it. He's happy though!

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 11/02/2019 13:32

Dcat is very health conscious. Keen to keep to his 5 a day regime.....

How long have you got?

All doors and curtains open "cat width", blinds never lower than "sitting cat height". A manky cardboard box in every room and a broken suitcase (which will now never be thrown out) in DS's room for sleeping purposes. A whole pet shop of toys (mostly ignored). Own catnip plant in garden. Water fountain on 3rd pump due to burn out. 2 walks a day (house cat).

Ruined.

DDog gets literally anything she asks for.

Dh and I run round after her, always looking to tummy rub her/offering her 'outies' or a treat.

We didn't get this dog til the kids had gone, she's TOTALLY a kid replacement.

She sleeps with her butt on my back for warmth, I get cheek marks from not turning over in case I disturb her.

We're frankly obsessed with her happiness.

After the high winds dh saw 'a good stick' on the street 'she might like' so brought it home Grin

She gets emails from family and has her own Facebook page with daily updates.

House cat here too. King Prawns for celebration meals, lambs lettuce (only fed by hand on general days, won’t accept lettuce in the food bowl). Water fountain, presents for birthday, Christmas and adoption day, breakfast whenever he wants (any time from 4am). Dcat-gap at every window covering to allow for full access. He knocks on the patio window if he’s used his litter tray to alert his staff that their cleaning services are required. I could go on....

TheNoodlesIncident · 11/02/2019 13:52

Our cat has this Cat House. It sits on a table outside so she can survey her domain from higher up and protected from the weather.

It has a cushion in it. And the house is painted nice colours.

I'm sure you'll agree, no more than she deserves as a minimum.

Aroundtheworldandback · 11/02/2019 13:55

My late dog had a soft spot for sashimi so loved to snap it the leftovers

Justamemory · 11/02/2019 14:02

My cat has her own 'princess pillow' with her own blanket.

Tbh the pillow cost £3.50 from Tescos, the blanket (ie. hand towel) was £2 and probably works out cheaper than a cat bed. And easier to wash. And preferable to her sleeping on top of the pile of clean washing.

Love this thread!
Ddog was abused and dumped by previous owners so needless to say we’ll do anything to make sure her last years are happy ones. Replaced our oak flooring (too slippy) with carpet (warmer and better grip for arthritic legs). She has better quality food than us, proteins are rotated (lamb, poultry, fish) so she gets a balance of nutrients and has raincoats, autumn jackets and winter fleeces as she cowers when she’s cold or wet.

amprev · 11/02/2019 14:09

I leave the telly on for my ddog when I go out so he doesn't feel lonely when sleeping on his heated pad in one of his three beds - he's a rescue whippet and brings me daily happiness.

YoThePussy · 11/02/2019 14:15

Lying on bed with one Dcat on top of me pinning me to the bed and the other snoring next to me. Breakfast is at any time from 4am onwards, biscuits are expected when I get up for breakfast, supper from mid afternoon or whenever I come home from work. Dreamies are demanded at 9pm with extra ones for special occasions such as it being Sunday, raining or they just must have more.

They have yet to meet Dtortoise who has her own list of needs, asparagus, lettuce, strawberries, cucumber..........

Namechangre · 11/02/2019 14:19

Just cooked some sausages for Ddog as they're his favourite. Trying and failing to get him to say 'rassidges' he's a beautiful but very silly Beardie. There's a poem I found, think it's called Owd Bob (about Bearded Collies) which made me cry so much. Ddog is my sweetheart and I love him so much.

SilverySurfer · 11/02/2019 14:20

My old cat Perkins would have sold his soul for prawns which I used to buy for him once a week. The only trouble was at some point during the day he would vomit them up. So I would spent all day following him around my flat with newspaper to hand. I don't know if that made me dedicated or plain stupid but I couldn't stop giving him his most favourite thing in the world Grin

takemebacktoLondon2012 · 11/02/2019 14:31

We have a Beardie too - got her a year ago today - we used to have a no dogs upstairs rule - no longer! she sleeps on our bed and takes up more room than me and DH - our Tibetan terrier prefers to nest on pillows in the floor - our grown up kids despair of us

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 11/02/2019 14:35

When ddog was wearing the cone of shame after stitches, she slept on my pillow.
My 6'4, 20 stone dh slept on a 2 seater couch for 3 nights!

My gorgeous Dwestie is allowed to sleep with me He has his own blanket but Snuggles into the back of my legs He is my companion hobby and leisure time all in one I have Cerebral Palsy so I pay a dog walker(£50) to take him for a good run every day She's now become a friend
I freely admit he's my replacement DS as my 3 humans have flown the nest

GooodMythicalMorning · 11/02/2019 14:44

So much, he's a spoilt bully. he doesnt like his £60 dog bed so uses the £500 (second hand but great condition) new sofa with lots of blankets on for him. His own doggy roast dinner if we have one. doggy ice cream if we have one. He regularly goes to the groom room. He picks his own toys as I can't say no when he looks at me with his big eyes. Im a dog mum pushover.

cjpark · 11/02/2019 14:46

I love my DDog. She's my favourite child. She has a roast every Sunday and eggs on Saturday morning. She has a robe for when she's had her bath, raincoats and jumpers. She has 3 beds in different rooms in the house but loves sleeping under the duvet with her back against my back the most. She has a sheepskin rug on the back seat of the car which she lies on as she hates the boot and even a life jacket for the summer so she can join us on the water.

WeirdCatLady · 11/02/2019 14:53

I’ve literally just apologised to ddog for ignoring him while cleaning the kitchen. He sat on my lap and had a big cuddle and has forgiven me.

Dcat is, however, disgusted with me for washing the manky towel she sleeps on. I tried to point out the numerous lush cat beds dotted around but she has not forgiven me.

Grumpelstilskin · 11/02/2019 14:58

Well, I have built a chaise longe for my cats who lounged on it with real catitude, till one of my dopy big greyhounds tried to sit on it. I made sofas for the dogs and cats. I’ve sewn funky amorphic blob cushions filled with memory foam for all of them. I have sewn coats and knitted sweaters for them. I also cook for the Ddogs. My DC tease me that they eat healthier than the rest of us. The cats never liked my home-cooking though. Mardy, judgmental gits! Grin We explained to Dpets that there was a strict no going on the bed rule. They listened politely and now we have a ginormous bed, as I made a frame for two super king size mattresses. I am still getting squashed.

RikGrimesIsMyFavourite · 11/02/2019 15:04

@GooodMythicalMorning I have a bully too!! Very similar to yours but his face is more tanned.

Our boy has his own roast dinners, his own mattress, countless blankets and generally rules the house. He's just pushed me off the sofa to sprawl out! We adore him xx
