And if you don't how do you cope with it? It's another coouple and we were in their company at the weekend (have met them briefly before). OH has knows them for years and although I knew she wasn't really my type of person there was nothing particularly bad about her. I htought it was just one of those "some folk you click with, some you don't"however at the weekend I found his friend's fiance (who is also his friend) to be incredibly pretentious and stuck up! Nothing major but just some niggly little comments/put downs about what we chose to drink, the event we were at. At one point she mentioned how she only has one friend from the area (moved to area from elsewhere) and I was silently thinking "I am hardly surprised with that attitude..."

Anyhow I haven't said anything to my OH because I don't want to make things awkward and there are some things that unavoidably we will both be at. i suppose I will just have to stay polite and smile sweetly. Does anyone else have a similar problem and how do you stop it making you dread being in their company again....

Can’t stand a lot of DHs friends. I let him socialise with them without me and the odd time I have to be there I put a smile on my face and put up with it.

Not much you can do op. Just grin and nod.

haha thanks. I grin and nod most days at work so I should manage that!
