AIBU to be pissed my payment still isn't in account at 16.55 on a Sunday thanks to Nationwide maintenance overrunning? well no actually.
I am fucking furious, day out at adventure park/zoo planned and paid for weeks ago before sons hospital appt tomorrow morning for 1st serial casting on both legs, couldn't go as needed to get there and travel money which was paid in last night, is still unaccounted for. Now worrying as we need to GET to hospital tomorrow first thing and need milk and bread for breakfast
Anyone else been shafted today?

Its annoying but I dont think its planned maintenance. They usually do that overnight.
I've been waiting for it to come back on and thought I could still withdraw cash, but no.
Nothing to be done but wait.

I know it doesn’t help your immediate problem but please do complain and tell them the specific issues it’s caused you.

Financial companies can’t just treat everyone the same with a bog standard “sorry for the disruption here’s £20”, they need to consider your individual circumstances and the impact the issue has had on you.

Fluffyears · 10/02/2019 17:55

@hazell24 the maintenance was due last night and now they are saying it’s overrun..,,seems like it might be anassive problem in their side.

dementedpixie · 10/02/2019 18:01

Still a message on the online service to say maintenance is ongoing. Is it money delayed going in as it says you can still get money out and use debit cards?

sweeneytoddsrazor · 10/02/2019 18:08

I have used mine today. It says on the website I cant transfer money or check balance but I can draw it out and I have paid with my card today.

Vixxxy · 10/02/2019 18:14

Yeah been waiting for it to come back on all day..it said it was due to be done by 3pm. And still no. Makes me worry theres been security breaches and that tbh when maintenance goes on for ages..

generalh · 10/02/2019 18:17

I used a cashpoint and withdrew from my flex account.
Does not show my balance of one of my savings accounts when I go on the app though.

SpringForEver · 10/02/2019 18:17

Maybe they have uploaded stuff to the cloud and user names have been switched over, probably trying to reverse it now.

I agree though, it is bad service.

generalh · 10/02/2019 18:19

I just transferred money on the app so it must be ok now.

BatsAreCool · 10/02/2019 18:25

Looks like it's finally been completed OP.

ATBhinchers · 10/02/2019 18:32

In this day and age no one should just have 1 bank account. Have at least two and keep a little bit of emergency money in the other (I'm talking like £20 for an emergency taxi ride etc) at the very least. Most people should/will have a credit card for this sort of situation and/or someone that could lend them some money if needed. Also keep some cash in the house for emergencies. In this day and age of IT don't just rely on one bank. Plus I bank with Nationwide as my main accounts and they're fucking ace at IT stuff compared to the other big banks and building societies TSB mainly

Chloemol · 11/02/2019 00:18

Things happen all the time. If you planned and booked it weeks ago then youshould gave has the money and got it out a few days ago rather than last minute. No sympathy I am afraid

SpinneyHill · 14/02/2019 03:45

@CloserIAm2Fine
Who do I complain to?

@ATBhinchers
@Chloemol
I have Two, I transferred my keep the change from Halifax to NW the wrong moment too.
As for keep cash on me, that's a great idea I even transferred money so I could take it out as cash and then I would have just paid for the bus
No, we don't all have credit cards (or was that a joke?)

I've scoured discounts vouchers etc, set up saving pots, Cheap tickets booked ages ago, coach/train/ day out offer, ride bracelets, kids lunch, journey home all paid for in advance
All tickets booked on Halifax card

Bus fare also saved, along with spends, NW account (no card stops me dipping in)
I transferred balance to my NW card account the night before, They are instant usually. Bad timing, site went down it still wasn't there at 7pm the next day. Why should I expect that?

Welcome to a world where banking apps and being able to move and access your own money actually do matter because we don't all have pocket cash as a back up.

There is another scheduled maintenance planned for tomorrow so be prepared.

CloserIAm2Fine · 17/02/2019 00:05

Complain to the bank, it’s their maintenance that’s caused the problem
