To ask for the notes

I am in the middle of a appeal process at work. It has been dragging on for months. Last contact I had with HR, the advisor told me she had spoken to all parties involved and given her recommendation to the person who makes the decision. That was over a month ago. Do I have a right to request those notes and the recommendation?

I’d give ACAS a ring. You'll be able to give more specifics than I guess you’re comfortable with here which might be relevant to the answer, and I’ve found them really helpful in the past (pointing me to a resource with sample letters showing the precise wording I need to use in a request etc.). I am categorically not an expert, but they should be able to help with your questions about seeing the notes, and also if it’s taking ages, they might be able to tell you whether you have any ability to speed the process up and get a conclusion.

That’s a good idea, thank you.
