Epidural advice!

Sorry, not sure what topic to put under and I know this gets traffic!

I had a very traumatic birth on Tuesday 05.02.19
I had a epidural and a spinal.

Since I've been feeling a bit off in my body. I feel like I don't have full feeling of my body and this is all over, not just lower half. It's like everything is tingly and shaky. I feel like after I do when I've had a really bad stomach bug (weak) or jet lag.
When I walk I feel very very weak.

Anyone else feel like this after epidural/spinal?

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow so will mention, but wondering if I should call anyone tonight?

Yup, I had exactly the same as you epidural and spinal I felt the same. It will pass it’s only been 4 days your body is recovering from labour, mention it to your midwife but I’m pretty sure it’s just recovering from the trauma. I felt so weak and felt like every one was distant, my HB was really low and needed a transfusion so double check your levels are ok as well
Congratulations!!!

You might find posters in the childbirth section who are currently in the same boat

I had an epidural and felt like this after. It was anaemia, I didn't lose loads of blood but reacted badly to the blood loss and felt breathless, shaky and emotional and very very weak. It would be worth getting a blood test as I think this is more likely than an issue with the epidural.

Also remember your body has just done the equivalent of running a marathon under a week ago!

I took spatone as it's more gentle on your tummy than iron tablets and felt a lot better as my iron levels increased.
