LIGHTHEARTED ish

Instead of two 500g jars of sausage casserole sauce - I'm getting one packet of Colman's sausage casserole mix HmmGrin

@steppemum

It's more to do with the fact that they don't get hot enough, fast enough - if the frozen meat warms up gently then the bacteria get a chance to breed and breed - have a Google and read up on it Smile

Delicious and really easy, I didn't know casserole sauce was a thing!

Of course you didn’t Hmm

Have you been living under a rock?

@Eliza9917 I find with a dark sauce you don't notice that they are pale. Or fry them first but I think that's too much effort!

I think you do, I went to a friends house once and she did sausage & mash and it looked like she'd boiled the sausages in gravy and they were soft, white and just vile. I don't think I've had sausage and mash since.

Your's may be lovely, but I also saw this woman serve her kids garlic bread baguettes that she microwaved inside the inner individual plastic bags they come in rather than cook them in the oven so I think it says more about her cooking than anything else.

I once ordered a box of staples and Tesco sent me a pencil sharpener

My slow cooker came with instructions for cooking from frozen. You put it on high for 2 hours and add 200ml of liquid, then cook for the normal length of time after (although the meat's usually already cooked by the 2 hour point).

I had my Christmas delivery due on 23rd December and knew I was taking a risk with things not being available. However, I didn't think anyone would substitute the turkey crown for a 150g packet of wafer thin turkey slices.

To be boring my terriaki kebabs were subbed for cajun breasts and I preferred them so I've got them this week instead!

How can it not get it hot enough to be safe? Just leave it in longer.

Frozen -> defrosted -> cooked

It doesn’t matter (I would have thought). If the first stage happens in the fridge, on the counter or in the slow cooker. As long as it gets to stage 3. Cooked.

What have I missed?
