to want a no deal Brexit NOW

I honestly think that a no-deal Brexit followed by recession, blockades, rotting food, empty supermarkets, disappearing multi-natiionals, factories and banks relocating abroad, job losses, more job losses in the hundreds of thousands, civil unrest, rationing and power cuts are the ONLY way to get people to sit up and realise that "the will of the people" was a complete con based on lies and deception and that we actually should be in the EU.

Once I watched David Attenborough talking about ants
There is a specific Austrian on fungus that uses ants as a host. It drills into an ant’s Brain and then rewires it to program the ant to climb up to the highest point on a plant it can reach. Once there, it calcifies the ant’s brain and consumes it as it slowly dies.

The ant never has a clue it’s been infected.

And of course, the people posting about apocalyptic scenarios where food is running out and people are dying left right and centre are totally not being manipulated or influenced at all by anyone. Nope Hmm

Who is the Austrian? Is it Hitler

I wouldn't mind no deal but only because I can escape on 28th March if I need to.

The thing is that remainers foolishly think any sort of chaos would teach hardcore leavers a lesson but the truth is that they are willing to accept around 100 years of absolute mayhem and poverty for "sovereignty". We must stop listening or even thinking about the hard brexiters and just concentrate on an orderly exit. Which is what I hope the government is doing.

bubblewire · 06/02/2019 22:40

Well next week's vote has been postponed, so the agony continues.

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 06/02/2019 22:42

PM's obviously just playing for time now and count on enough mp's wanting to avoid no deal to support her deal.

BettyBitchface · 06/02/2019 22:51

Every day now, somewhere, remainers practically salivating at the prospect of societal Armageddon so they can be proven "right".

It's downright distasteful.

PestyMachtubernahme · 06/02/2019 22:56

Bitch you won get over it and get planning.

KennDodd · 06/02/2019 23:00

If only there was some way the pain of Brexit could be restricted only to those who voted for it. If there are job losses, then people who voted leave should be stepping forward to take the hit. They should be have a Brexit fund they could pay into to mitigate the affect of price rises for Remainers and be willing to be last in the queue if there are shortages of medicine and fresh food.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 06/02/2019 23:02

As much as I don’t like what Teresa may stands for there’s only one muppet to blame and that’s david Cameron, and where is he now,? Thought he’d be clever and ended up shooting himself in the foot...

I think most remainers will be doing snoopy dances all over the place if post Brexit everything is fine and dandy. I know I will be extremely happy to be proved wrong.

BettyBitchface · 06/02/2019 23:09

Taking my name out of context to call me a Bitch, how very nice.

I have no great desire to be personally proven right. I just want all of this over with and us back in a large trading block with people seeing the benefits of it. Seems to me a no deal - as harsh as it would be - is the most rapid route to that outcome.

I am on medication that has stopped being exported to the UK from where it's made in the EU. My GP's and countless chemists I've been to have told me that. I know other people with the same problem. I depend on it, but luckily for me my life doesn't, unlike people with type 1 diabetes!

Chainormous · 07/02/2019 00:34

Part of me wants a no deal Brexit for the "I told you so's"

Of course, it helps that I've emigrated since the referendum.

Chainormous · 07/02/2019 00:35

If I was still living in the UK, I'd definitely want Brexit to be a success... I just don't see how that's possible.

PositivelyPERF · 07/02/2019 00:43

I’ll make a deal with the Brexit supporters that want no deal. What about we vote for an no deal, then you all come over here to NI to live? That way you can see first hand what you’re about to do to 20yrs of relative peace. Deal?

Incredulosity · 07/02/2019 00:49

OP Grow up, we have been in the EU a blink of an eye compared to the vast and rich history of our nation. We will survive, indeed I think we will thrive. It seems that Mumsnet only welcomes remainer left wing feminists who support late term abortions - I am outta here as the entire platform is a total disgrace...

userschmoozer · 07/02/2019 00:52

Don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.

PositivelyPERF · 07/02/2019 00:53

Bye bye 👋🏼

Incredulosity · 07/02/2019 00:54

And that is exactly the attitude that makes this platform a disgrace well done you

Yanbu ...bring it on ...

SusanWalker · 07/02/2019 01:41

I get where you're coming from but as someone in a really vulnerable position I'll have to pass.

Anyway leavers are so dogmatic all the problems will be either the EU's or remainers' fault, they will bear no responsibility and will learn no lessons.

Like when my ex knocked a mug off the side and said it was my fault for putting it in the middle of the kitchen worktop.
