Be honest - who can get a jar of Nutella & not eat most of it off a spoon? Just me?

@Deeedeeee so have I!!!

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:29

@MinisterforCheekyFuckery haha. I did that as a teenager with Wispa bars. Envy

I like that it tastes metallic. Has to be a tin not a plastic bottle. God I'm weird.

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:30

@Deeedeeee I sense there might be a story there. Go on, you're in a safe space.

@LilQuim I'm in recovery. Have kicked the sugar. Am on the pecan nuts now.

Youwhat123 · 06/02/2019 19:31

Ive never had Nutella. It looks so unhealthy. Does it taste of chocolate?

ginghamstarfish · 06/02/2019 19:32

You can make your own much healthier and more natural version, have seen lots of recipes online!

ipdipskyblue · 06/02/2019 19:35

You also need to try Jim Jams chocolate spread, even more addictive...(hops off mumsnet to put some in the next online shop after all this chocolate spread talk!).

SecretNutellaFix · 06/02/2019 19:39

My username probably gives away what I believed for years. The past year and a half? I've gone right off it.

It feels claggy and sticky on the roof of my mouth while feeling oily on my tongue, so yeah. Nutella hasn't passed my doorstep or my lips since just before Christmas 2017.

I used to eat a jar of Nutella using plain breadsticks from Tesco. Less washing up to do.

Ooogetyooo · 06/02/2019 19:40

No crises in life can't be sorted by simply standing in ones kitchen jar of Nutella ( or Lidl's version Nutoka) in one hand and large spoon in the other. Bliss. If you've never done it there's something wrong with you. Fact.

Ooogetyooo · 06/02/2019 19:41

Youwhat- yes it's unhealthy but that's the point😆

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 06/02/2019 19:50

I can’t have any Maoam sweets in the house, particularly joystick and pinballs they really are my crack addiction, the only time I let myself buy them is probably a couple of times a year on a long car journey, god I love long car journeys.......

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 06/02/2019 19:51

It tastes revolting to me. It has a weird, chemically aftertaste.

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:53

@Kolo *The list of things not allowed in my house:
Nutella
Peanut butter
Chocolate Hob nobs
Nutella b-ready bars
‘Family’ sized edible things
Multipack edible things

I don’t like haribo, so that’s the only treat thing allowed in my house for the kids.*

Add to my list huge bags of Maltesers.

@Drogosnextwife he can join me anytime, but I'll prob eat it all!

OP posts:
DonDrapersOldFashioned · 06/02/2019 19:54

Careful with that JimJams stuff. Doesn’t it contain artificial sweetener? It can have unfortunate digestive effects.

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:55

@violeticecream @Deeedeeee wait - I've eaten that caramelised condensed milk out the tin. Ate the whole tin. Then vommed it up.

TakemebacktoClifton · 06/02/2019 19:55

I adore the stuff. Many a late night had been had with me with dipping a spoon into the jar!

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:56

@Deeedeeee I'm in recovery. Have kicked the sugar. Am on the pecan nuts now.

I was doing great off the sugar, but ffs I'm bang on it again. It's def my crack!

OP posts:
LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:56

@Youwhat123 really? Oh God, yes, it's very unhealthy!!! But so delicious.

OP posts:
LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:57

@ginghamstarfish but do they taste nice????!

OP posts:
LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:58

@ipdipskyblue I need to not try anything else!! I've got zero restraint!

OP posts:
ForOldLandsEye · 06/02/2019 19:59

Its in the same category as Cadburys for me; used to be delicious but now tastes horrible.

Its too sweet and therefore sickly and leaves a ‘stinging’ after taste in your mouth.

I wish theyd stop messing around with food.

LilQuim · 06/02/2019 19:59

@SecretNutellaFix omg. How did you break that cycle? Tell me your magic ways, PLEEEEEEASE!

OP posts:
Cozytoesandtoast00 · 06/02/2019 19:59

I can't have nutella in the house! It has been responsible for me gaining half a stone in weight! Spoon and jar in hand and I'm in my happy place. So it is now banned!
