Bearded men

My wonderful and delightful OH has been growing a beard for the last two weeks. I can't say I'm a fan but completely get it's his choice. I wouldn't expect him to dictate my hairstyles. He is completely wonderful and I fancy the pants off him......

.....HOWEVER, boy oh boy does it scratch when we kiss and I can't help but wonder what "other stuff" will be like with his newly grown whiskers. Kissing is now a scratchy affair, my nether regions are far more tender.

What's a girl to do? Grin and bear it, hope this passing facial hair phase passes?

Your views and experiences would be gratefully received.

It gets less scratchy the longer it gets.
DP uses beard oil & it keeps it well groomed & soft.
No complaints from me at all 😬 I love it, but I miss seeing his dimples

Teapot1984 · 05/02/2019 20:38

My DH has had a beard for years, mainly because he has a baby face and it makes him look older,he keeps it trimmed and washes and conditions it.

As for the other stuff, you get use to kissing with it there and well let's just say a nice soft beard adds a little something to something else 😉

Lovingbenidorm · 05/02/2019 20:40

Sorry I’m totally anti facial hair 🤢

lilyheather1 · 05/02/2019 20:43

Honestly I don't even notice it, I couldn't tell you if there's a difference to be felt. My DH looks amazing with his beard though so I love it on him all the more.

AwkwardPaws27 · 05/02/2019 20:44

It gets less scratchy after a while. Beard oil is great.

It's not a beard, it's a saddle GrinBlush

Beard oil now on order. Thanks girls!

Totally love beards on men

mummabubs · 05/02/2019 21:28

My DH decided to grow his hair out a year ago and I'm still trying to straddle the line between supporting him in whatever he chooses to do with his body whilst equally being as honest as I can be when he asks if I like it... I loathe it 😂 It's really quite long now and to me despite all the many products still scratchy as! Hope oil works for your better half OP!

mummabubs · 05/02/2019 21:28

*Should have said beard rather than hair... although it is now so long that I can see why I made that slip!

NoPhelange · 05/02/2019 21:38

DP has the most gorgeous beard. Not too long, and he grooms it so well. Special beard wash, beard oil or if he's feeling brave he will steal my Moroccan oil and hope I don't smell, brushes it... It's just lovely and makes him look so rough and manly 😁 he has the most amazing huge matching dimples though I do miss those.

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2019 21:41

Don't like beards. You see so many men that would look way better without.
Worse though is the beard/ man bun combo.

spellingtest · 05/02/2019 21:43

Does it make any difference that it's ginger? Think Prince Harry plus 20 years....

Oh ffs.

liverbird10 · 05/02/2019 23:20

Beards are horrible. When I come to poer, I shall round them up and shave the bloody lot.

liverbird10 · 05/02/2019 23:21

*power, even. Confused

FingerKFCLicking · 05/02/2019 23:24

Each to their own, though I look at them and think face pubes.

BowBeau · 05/02/2019 23:27

Beards are an awesome addition to “other stuff” once they’ve grown past the initial prickly stage.

BusySnipingOnCallOfDuty · 05/02/2019 23:28

Made my OH grow his out a bit longer than this, last year, just because i was curious. Eventually i cut it for him. I dont mind them like this. I hate full beards and detest moustaches. Sorry for the deliberate face pulling. And omg i still had hair then sob

DH looks 12 without his beard so I encourage it. I got him a grooming set as a stocking filler for Christmas and he loves it, it had a beard comb, beard shampoo/conditioner, beard balm and beard oil and a little pair of scissors. He smells lovely and the beard is definitely softer.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 06/02/2019 01:19

I like the way it looks but hate the way it feels. Even when it’s gone past the scratchy phase.

DH shaves because he’d rather kiss than have a beard!

Donmesswime · 06/02/2019 01:23

I can't stand them.

Notsurprisedatall · 06/02/2019 01:28

Dh has one, not long just two inches three max.
It goes softer after a while and when it is longer.
I hate him without it now lol, it doesn't look like him. Too baby faced and young looking.
