To look at my child and cry with happiness

He's 4 the only child I have and honestly I look at him sometimes and well up thinking about how much I love him. Even on the shittiest day when he's been hard work and a typical 4 year old I tuck him in and watch him sleep and it really hits me how much I love him. I know I'm not being unreasonable but does anyone else get this, I could just squeeze him he's just amazing. I'm fairly certain nobody has ever loved anyone as much as I love him 😍

I often well up over my 2 girls, they're 3 and 5 and I'm so proud of them.
It's lovely and fascinating watching them together especially the 3 year old who is so in awe of her sister.

Cheeringmeup · 05/02/2019 23:08

Mine are now 19 and 14 but I still feel that love. They can be challenging, like any young people, but I love the young adults they are becoming - kind, funny, compassionate and clever. I couldn’t be prouder of them and feel privileged to be their mum.

I feel the same about my dd. She's nearly 8 months, wakes me up at night but when I look at her all I feel is a love so deep it renders me speechless

JaneJeffer · 05/02/2019 23:09

people who can't have kids are reading this thread
You are being ridiculous.

RoboticSealpup · 06/02/2019 07:24

Go be offended by a wet lettuce somewhere.

That was funny.

thinkingcapon · 06/02/2019 08:20

That's amazing fiveredbricks

I'm not remotely offended but I imagine some might be. I'll tell them go suck on a wet lettuce if they post

Giraffesinscarves · 06/02/2019 09:15

YABU. Nobody can possibly love their kids as much as I love mine GrinGrin

Lovely thread and 100% agree. I look at mine and just feel so much love its overwhelming. When they come up and throw their arms around you for a hug its the best.feeling.ever!

FiveRedBricks · 06/02/2019 09:33

Perhaps 'mumsnet' might not be the greatest place for them then if they're going to be offended by this post @thinkingcapon ... Just a thought.

ItsMEhooray · 06/02/2019 10:21

Perhaps it would cheer up people who can't have children if we all moaned about our kids and called them little shits instead of considering how very lucky we are to have them. Except that it definitely wouldn't. And I'm not going to pretend my child doesn't exist.
