Sick of it. How can I have soft large flexible socks.

AIBU to buy new socks every fortnight.

Apparently you are not meant to tumble dry socks. Read that on MN recently!

MrsBertBibby · 05/02/2019 07:05

Bamboo socks are lovely and soft.

showmeshoyu · 05/02/2019 07:10

If your socks are getting crunchy, buy your DP a fleshlight.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 05/02/2019 07:13

Try putting them through an extra rinse cycle or cutting down the amount of washing powder maybe. A cupful of white vinegar instead of fabric softener helps too.

JustTrustme · 05/02/2019 07:17

YANBU

These socks from M&S don’t get crunchy and are seamfree.

@showmeshoyu 😂😂

Buy socks with higher cotton content. Or silk ones!

bsc · 05/02/2019 07:47

Or wool ones.... lovely at this time of year.

Divgirl2 · 05/02/2019 07:53

If all your clothes are coming out crispy then it's probably an accumulation of washing detergent. You'll need to clean out the washing machine (use bicarb and vinegar on a HOT wash). Then for your clothes you'll have to use much less detergent and softener than you were previously, and maybe give them a few spins on hotter washes.

If it is just the socks that are coming out stiff as boards then I'd recommend putting some Kleenex Man-size on subscription on Amazon. They can deliver a huge box of 24 every month if you like - that'll solve the problems!

Hope that helps

Bamboo socks all the way.

DorisDances · 05/02/2019 07:57

I buy Calvin Klein cotton socks- packs of three from John Lewis. They cost more than basic socks but last for ever, have a soft top to them and don't crisp up. Have also given as little presents and comment is always that these are the best socks they have ever had.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 05/02/2019 07:58

I buy men’s from M and S. Big size. Then l tumble them and they fit perfectly😊

And no crunchiness.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 05/02/2019 07:58

About 15 quid for 5 l think. Any cheaper and they crunch. Pure cotton

ToffeePennie · 05/02/2019 08:15

Cheap nasty primark socks. Washed on their own with a tiny bit of powder and a lot of softener. Tumble dry on hot. Come out lovely every time.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 05/02/2019 08:21

Bamboo socks are the very best. Try BAM.

Doris- I got.my CK socks from tkmaxx- I agree they're fab, and they're a good length which is nice and toasty at this time of year (more than half way up.my calf, but I'm v small!)
The M&S men's always are v nice and soft, DH has those (they wouldn't fit my size 3s!)

cauliflowersqueeze · 05/02/2019 20:01
