AIBU to completely change my career and retrain as a hairdresser? Im currently working in an office on fairly good wage, however it is extremely boring and I spend most of my day surfing the net! Its a small family run company with no real progression and Ive only been here since August. I want to retrain in hairdressing and have a potential apprenticeship lined up, but as with all apprenticeships the wage is extremely low. So here is the dilemma, do I stick out my current job and the relatively comfortable lifestyle I can afford, or jack it all in and start an apprenticeship that will enable me to have a career but absolutely no spare cash for the next two years? HELP!

I'm the other side of this. I was a hairdresser since I left school and 'give it up' coming up 2 years ago to take a job doing something completely different and with great earning potential.
I would say it's great career to train in and I still do friends and families hair so that's the plus side to it.
However to make a good living you are best off self employed or even rent a chair.
Could you not keep your current job and do evening at college? As I no my local college does an evening class.
