What's good for stretch marks? It has to be cheap and not slippy in the bath. My bathroom floor is already an ice rink.

Ohh just remembered I have cheap coffee for a cellulite scrub! I love diy beauty treatments! And exclamation marks!

Unfortunately stretch marks are there for ever Sad acceptance is the best thing for them.

They are scars, so they will fade but not disappear completely.

I think the only thing guaranteed to prevent stretch marks is not getting pregnant Grin

There are various products available out there to help, bio-oil is one that springs to mind, but it seems to be very hit and miss whether they actually make any difference. Personally I didnt bother throwing money at the problem as the stretch marks didnt bother me that much.

Giving birth? UmEntitled my dh has stretch marks, definatetly never been pregnant!

Racecardriver · 02/02/2019 13:28

Stench marks you already have? Tattoos to correct their colour. Preventing stretch marks? Not gaining weight.

Bumblebee39 · 02/02/2019 13:29

It's not pregnancy it's any rapid weight loss and/or weight gain that causes them (along with biology and also some lifestyle factors such as smoking)

Bumblebee39 · 02/02/2019 13:29

Mine started in puberty Shock

namechanger2019 · 02/02/2019 13:29

I used bio oil twice a day in every pregnancy and was lucky to never get any stretch marks. I don't know if the oil helped or if I wouldn't have got them anyway.

Scandaloso · 02/02/2019 13:30

There's no lotion you can buy that 'fixes' stretchmarks. They fade over time. Have heard of some kind of laser therapy but no idea if that's just hi-tech snakeoil.

Bigonesmallone3 · 02/02/2019 13:32

I got some 'mama mio' belly rub whilst pregnant with dc2, I didn't get any extra marks and also helped fade marks from dc1..
I'm now on dc3 and have bought another tub!

Amanduh · 02/02/2019 13:34

Not necessarily weight related either, just growth.

Bumblebee39 · 02/02/2019 13:47

@namechanger2019

I do wonder this
I have stretch marks everywhere everywhere
Except my tummy which is the only place I've ever used bio oil Shock

Some people are just susceptible to them depending on skin type. I’ve never had any but my DH has some on his hips from puberty. They fade over time, there isn’t much you can do to speed the process though. I don’t think it’s weight gain/loss alone, more the speed at which it happens which is why the pregnancy link, as your skin is stretching a lot over a pretty short period.
