To think you don't go out to the shops with chicken pox?

I was in the supermarket queue this morning behind a family with a 2 year old and a younger child. A friend of theirs came up to say hello, lots of hugs and kisses. Then suddenly all whispers "oh we shouldn't get too close. He's still got chicken pox" (the friend was pregnant).and the mum was referring to the younger child she was holding.

Is it just me or is it just irresponsible to take a poorly child out into a busy area like that? Both parents were with the children so it's not like it was one parent on an emergency trip out. I had my DD with me too who hasn't has CP and she was playing with their 2 year old.

Yanbu at all. I'd have been tempted to say something to them!

Baconmaker · 02/02/2019 11:00

They shouldn't be out in public until they've crusted over.

brizzledrizzle · 02/02/2019 11:03

They are being totally unreasonable, one parent should be home with the children.

YANBU.

That’s a completely selfish and utterly twattish thing to do.

I really wish I had said something but then one of the other queues opened so I moved across.

Will be really not happy if DD gets it now. Angry

I just don't understand why people think its okay to act like this.
